Dr. Craig Steven Rogers, MD

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Rogers. He had horrible bed side manner and didn’t seem knowledgeable at ALL in his very small medical field (ECT). He would ask me when I wanted to come back for another treatment. And I was like uhhhh aren’t you the professional? How would I know. I had about 12 treatments but I probably could have done less. I came completely out of my deep depression so I guess he did save my life but I still don’t trust him as a Dr. Every symptom that I brought to his attention he said that he never heard of..... which is weird for someone who has been doing this for years... my hair was falling out and he said “oh well your hair looks fine.” I had to research it myself and tell him that ECT does cause hair loss in some cases. I was taking a high dose of Effexor and remrom and he’s supposed to also be pyschiatrist and he never said to lower the dose. As a result, I became manic. I was never bi polar but I found online that the Effexor and the ECT can… trigger mania. He had no idea about any of this!!! I had to do all of the research myself and I had to tell the specialist what was going on??? I told him my manic symptoms and he said I wasn’t manic, but I was clearly manic. Lol. Please do not work with Dr Rogers. Find a more qualified ECT doctor who isn’t nasty and actually cares about their patients. And someone who actually KNOWS what they are doing!

He is judgemental and rude to a DANGEROUS degree. Rogers completely refused to treat my son who sought out ECT. My son struggled with substance abuse last year, but successfully completed rehab and continues to work with a psychiatrist who specializes in addiction. This psychiatrist emphatically suggested ECT because my son is proving to be medication resistant. As a result of the aforementioned self-medication, my son was placed on probation last year. He is nearing one year as a probationer without a single violation. Also, more than one PO agreed that ECT would be a good course of action especially because we are running out of possible treatments. We are attempting to get the help he desperately needs, but Rogers turned us away because of all of the above. We weren't even able to explain a lot of this to Rogers because he oh so quickly shamed my son and said "no." This is how kids overdose. We are trying to seek out treatment and proper care and are being turned away. That's when… people turn to self-medication. When they're at the end of the line, running out of options, and doctors are unwilling to do their job.

We are seeking out treatment and being turned away which can very well lead to self-medicating. As a result of the aforementioned drug use, my son is on probation. He is nearing the end of a year under probation without a single violation, but Rogers weaponized that nonetheless and turned us away--Even though two different probation officers signed off (verbally) on this course of treatment. However, we were actually unable to tell him that because he had already said "no." He made my son feel as if he is not worthy of treatment, of care, of room to speak and be heard.

To start, none of the receptionists pick up the phone. I called twice yesterday and called today to leave message I would be 5 minutes late. When I arrived there were receptionists all talking to each other. My therapist also had to leave a message - no answer on the phone. I had to wait a month for his appointment in which I desperately needed antidepressants as recommended by my therapist. When I arrived for inpatient with margret Klein she was very snotty and told me I would not receive treatment unless I participated in group therapy sessions. Completely absurd since I see a therapist weekly already and my schedule does not allow for another session and this was NOT told to me prior to the visit in which I waited a month for. I specifically asked if they could make any exceptions in which she replied no and I told her I’d have to find a different psychiatrist and that this was very frustrating. She then asked if she could walk me to the emergency room. I’m in shock. Please do not… give your money to this practice. Appalling.

Dr. Rogers is extremely kind, understanding and professional. I had him for many years and couldn't have gotten to where I am, psychologically without him. He takes time to listen, and by listening, he knows the proper way to treat you.

My family and friends feel sorry for him. He's had to deal with me for over ten years. He is such a patient man. He has saved my life more than once. If he ever decides to retire, I will haunt him.
