Dr. Crystal Elaine Alvarez, MD

I went to see Dr. Alvarez for birth control and overheard her laughing at me along with a couple nurses in a room where at least 4 other medical professionals were. I was in the room next door and they obviously thought I could not hear. She had asked me about whether or not I thought I could get pregnant, I'm assuming because I'd had a partial hysterectomy, but was still on birth control. The reason I was still on birth control is because of the painful endometriosis that had not been alleviated from the partial hysterectomy. As she laughed and made fun of me, no one said anything to her. In fact, a couple nurses laughed along as she and another main nurse ridiculed me. I quickly got dressed, while clearly hearing them discuss me and my personal business as if I was a joke. I walked into the room and stood up for myself at which point she began to fall all over herself trying to hem and haw about what she was saying. I left still in pain and without receiving the injection, even… though her office called me on the phone as I drove away. I refused to go back, and have been haunted by this experience ever since. Not only have I never been back to that office, I have plans to leave the whole UTMB system. I have never been treated so terribly by any professional, let alone a medical doctor. I would not wish Dr. Crystal Alvarez on an enemy.

She did an absolute horrible job with my delivery. She permanently damaged my vagina with her episiotomy cut and I'm in pain 12 weeks later. I need another surgery to possibly fix it. Her inexperience cost me dearly. She makes you wait hours then rushes through clinic visits. She left me alone pushing on the table and yelled for me to stop. Horrible doctor!
