Dr. Cynthia Tamar Kertesz, MD

When we adopted out of foster care, our agency recommended the UW adoptive medicine program. The program itself is top notch, and Dr. Kertesz was far and away the best doc I've experienced. She took whatever time was needed to cover concerns, provided excellent care, and made recommendations on a broad range of appropriate matters. She's highly intelligent as well as deeply compassionate. She might well be the thing I miss most since moving away from Seattle. It's been more than a year yet I still remember her kind advice and my kids are the better for it.

When my husband and I adopted e wanted the best care for our child so we chose the Center for Adoption Medicine and now I am wondering if there is any benefit to seeing Cynthia Kertesz over any other pediatrician. Many of my direct questions go unanswered, she doesn't spend a lot of time with my child on our visits, and her support staff is rude and often very gruff and unsympathetic unsympathetic to my very traumatized child. I don't think that she is a bad doctor, but the support staff is a problem for me and I don't believe that we as a family, or my child has gained anything from going to Cynthia.
