Completely confrontational. From the start of the conversation in which my daughter said, “Dr. V said you could probably help me”... her response, “I doubt VERY much that Dr. V said that”. (what??!) Then she questioned everything that my daughter said to the point that I said, “well, how do you know anything is true? Don’t you have to go by what your patients tell you?” It isn’t like there’s a blood test for anxiety. She is a bully & what she did to my daughter is classic gaslighting. I don’t think I’ve spoken to someone with this bad of a an attitude in a very long time. My guess is that since she’s pretty old, she is a Freud disciple or one of the older psychologists whose theories have all been proven to be wrong/not based in longitudinal studies. The world is not flat. Time to catch up on some modern psychology Dr. K.

Diane gave very good suggestions and helped me figure out how I wanted to carry them out.
