Dr. Cyrus King IIi, MD

Dr. King performed an excellent surgery on my lumbar spine. My nerve symptoms, including tingling, pain and numbness, disappeared almost immediately. I am so pleased with my recovery after seven weeks. I chose Dr. King based on reviews. Most were very positive, and the only negative ones were because the patients were upset that he recommended no surgery. That reassured me that he would give an honest assessment. I am very happy Dr. King is my doctor and would recommend him to anyone. He and his staff are very friendly and helpful.

Had difficult neck surgery. I could not be more pleased with the procedure and outcome. Had put off for years afraid of complications and wish that I had him do it sooner.

This doctor is amazing! At first I wasnt sure about going to him to get my problem diagnosed because of all the negative reviews I read about him, but after visiting him I can ensure that he is nothing like how people have described him. He is very patient, attentively listened to all my questions and concerns, and gave me hope that he will perform my surgery(microdiscectomy) perfectly which he did a great job at doing. Ive been having sciatica pain for the past two years and I thought it would get better by itself but about two months ago my whole left was having pain and eventually it went numb, which is when I decided to visit a neuro and it was the best decision of my life. From there I found out that I had a huge herniated disc and it was extremely pinching my nerve which was causing the numbness. I was very nervous about getting my surgery but the day of the surgery he was very supportive and answered all my questions and gave me full hope that I will be better. Im very glad… that I found this doctor and highly recommend him to anyone having nerve or lower back related problems.

He didnt listen at all. He didn’t want to do surgery on me because”I only hit home runs” he has a God complex

I agree with the comment stating individuals either love or hate him. My experience with Dr. King was beyond disappointing. I was very eager to meet with him in regards to several back issues I am dealing with (2 herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spinal arthritis, nerve root compression/damage, inflamed sacroiliac joint, etc), and to get his professional, medical opinion. The exact opposite happened.... He did not review my MRI or x-rays, came in the room and specifically asked me "Why are you here? What do you want me to do?" I told him that my pain management doctor (who he knew) sent me. He told me he could do surgery, but he was "no miracle worker" and he didn't want to be blamed if it didn't work. I asked him for a recommendation as to what I should do then, because I can hardly stand, let alone walk, and he told me he was going to refer me to a nutritionist.......? That was his only recommendation. He was extremely rude, arrogant, and condescending, and spent only about 3… minutes in the room with me. My "examination" was walking 4 feet forward and then back. It was very clear that he was annoyed with my appointment, and had no desire to spend any time on me. This was by far the worse experience I have ever had with a doctor.

It seems fro the reviews that patient either love or hate him. Afraid that our families experience with him was in the very negative category. the comment above: rude , condensenting, little time or care for the patient are all to familiar. I think that he is a reasonable surgeon but has little compassion for his patients and poor are listening. Pretty certain he can solve everything with surgery. When it doesn't work it is on someone else, not realistic.

I had back problems for 20 years and very severe for several years. Dr King was the 3rd neurosurgeon that I saw, all of whom were very well qualified and with tears of fear he made me feel more confident in the surgery. I told him that the problem was my fear of coming out worse. Dr King has very skilled hands and knowledge of his goals with each individual and talks with confidence as he should. Since the day of surgery I have been relieved of my greatest fear and continue to do therapy and get stronger each day. I would and have, highly recommended Dr King to friends and family and I wouldn't consider any other neurosurgeon in the future. He successfully did a 4 vertebrae fusion on me and ive had several other people in the medical field tell me they have patients current and former that have done very well under Dr King. He and his staff get a 10 out of 10.

Wow, reading these reviews almost makes me dizzy. I'm not sure how a doc can get such a wide range of responses, but my experience was terrific. His staff were extremely gracious, and he was professional and knowledgeable. He found my herniated disc when an ortho had told me that my back was just fine (despite the severe pain and inability to move my leg). I haven't had surgery yet so can't review that, but I'd definitely recommend him based on my visit.
