Dr Anderson is the only Phychiatrist I'd recommend to folks. He's extremely thorough. Also very thoughtful. I've seen him for only a year. Hands down the best I've found over 35 years of looking for the best Phychiatrist. I found him tes just fantastic

I’m very lucky to have Dr. Anderson as my psychiatrist. When my Excellent psychiatrist of 10 years had to move out of state I went on a mission to find someone who was knowledgeable and kind. I went to more than 10 psychiatrists looking for someone who clicked with me. I have a complicated medical history and I’m on over 30 medications. It took me 5 months looking for someone who was taking new patients within less than a month out. I’m superbly satisfied!! He goes above and beyond most psychiatrists. He truly listens to your thoughts, concerns and questions. He spends his time making sure you understand and are comfortable with any decisions that are made for your treatment. Others have mentioned frustration with wait time, but that’s because he is with a patient taking the time to meet their needs. Know that it means he will take his time with you as well. He genuinely cares about you and is accurate with his diagnosis and appropriate medications. He is also a neurologist, which… means he knows WAY more about how to treat you than a typical psychiatrist. I highly recommend him and I completely trust him.

Dr. Anderson and his staff truly care about providing quality care. Dr. Anderson treats a lot of patients in St. Louis where the need for psychiatric care in the area is not met by enough other Dr’s. Dr. Anderson treats patients in severe crisis, which I admire and believe should take priority. Once I had this information, I understood why the wait is often long at your appointment. Dr. Anderson took the time to really listen and ask questions to provide me with the best care for the three years I was his patient. I moved out of state and wish he was still my Dr. He is direct, only because he is very thorough. He is kind and gave me the best course of treatment. I tried two other Dr’s while in St. Louis looking for quicker care, however, while the other Dr’s wait was short, I never went back to them bc the quality of care was awful compared to the superior quality of care by Dr. Anderson. Booking first available in the morning gets you in quickly. Why you may have to wait… past the appointment time, it’s worth waiting. Wouldn’t you rather wait and have a Dr give all his patients the proper care, than be shuffled through with inaccuracy? The office is great about getting you in and returning your calls. Dr. Anderson is a wonderful Dr serving his community with a commitment to helping others.

I believe, after this doctor became successful, he lack the compassion and the willingness to get involved when the going get tough for the patient. He will medicate you all day long, but, he will not step out on a limb for you or put his reputation on the line for you.

I like many people in reviews had found his long wait in the office objectionable. I decided to switch to another psychiatrist because my insurance did not cover him. I am so glad he took me back! The other Dr messed up all of my medication and had me to the point I thought I might have to go in the hospital. Dr Anderson got me in the same day I called. It was a long wait, but I knew what it would be like and found the fact that I was so sick far more objectionable than the wait. He spent a great deal of time with me to make sure we were both comfortable moving forward with the prescribed treatment. I felt so comfortable going back.
