Dr. Dale E. Braun, MD

Hitting my head on the bath tub, EMS services rushed me to Firelands Emergency Room for treatment. It was determined that there was Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and Dr. Braun was called in for consultation and treatment for my injury. There were four damaged vertebrae starting with C1 thru C4. It was determined that C4 had been shattered, not just fractured. Because of Dr. Braun expertise in neurosurgery, he was able to repair my broken neck and repair the damaged spinal cord due to the shattered C4 vertebrae. Because of the fractured spine and impaired spinal cord, I stopped breathing twice and was put on a respirator to maintain homeostasis. By all assessments, I should have ended up with little or no use in my lower extremities, impaired use of my arms and hands while requiring the care of trained professional caregiver for the rest of my life. Because of Dr. Braun's surgery and care pre-op as well as post-operative, my life is as normal now as before my accident. I do have some slight… limitations while my spinal cord and nerve conduction continue their healing. Walking over half a mile unattended, full function of body systems, able to write again, and feed myself at meals. Taking care of all my own personal hygiene and so much more that I use to take for granted before my fall. All I can say is Thank You so much Dr. Braun. The only problems I have ever encountered is with the staff and buiness manager of Dr. Braun's office. I have to recommend Dr. Braun for his professional and courteous care of my family while unconscious before my surgery and during my Emergency Room visit and inpatient time at Firelands Hospital. Thank you so much again Dr. Braun for everything you did for me and my family during my time of crisis.

My husband was in terrible pain, could barely walk with the help of a cane when he saw Braun. The following week he called the office to ask for pain medicine; no return. Next day he called and got the prescription. Surgery scheduler messed things up and my husband had to call our insurance and fixed it. The office manager lectured my husband and told him Braun didn't feel comfortable operating him and might not do it. Yet, next week they confirmed the surgery... There was more aggravation and disrespectful behavior from the part of the staff, but no space to relate. The last straw was a call from the hospital to let us know the surgery was cancelled because Braun felt uncomfortable. He even spoke with a lawyer. So, beware and make sure you first ask this man if he feels comfortable being your doctor, before he decides you make him "uncomfortable" or—who knows?—might even consider suing you for his discomfort! I wish someone would report him to the State Medical Board of OH.

You can’t go wrong with Dr. Braun. Excellent surgeon and very personable. I can not recommend him enough.

I liked him and his staff was nice. I went a year ago , going again today.

I did my due diligence and spent time deciding which doctor I needed to work on my back. I had a herniated disc, and a broken piece of my spine putting pressure on my spine. I asked everyone I knew in my area and then some. By my own data collection of other patients I knew went to Dr. Braun, I deducted he was the doctor for me, along with many other happy patients that I know from the area. Everything from performance to bedside manners was reviewed. Dr. Braun and his staff are the best.

He's personable, comes off as caring & will want what is best for you. He challenged Medicare on m behalf & won.

Dr Braun is a down to earth, kind, caring physician. I would and have recommended him to family and friends. He has had neck surgery himself, so he understands his patients.

Dr. Braun is an excellant Neurosurgeon and I would not go to anyone but him, for any surgery.

I have seen Dr Braun twice now since my accident in March. I like the fact that he is very direct and to the point. My biggest issue with Dr Braun is he is so good he has too many people to see so it takes forever to see him. Other than that no other complants.
