Dr. Dallas Dan Hessler, DO

Nothing good to write. Dr. Hessler is rude & discourteous. He acts like he doesn't enjoy what he does. He must be in it just for the money. A shame. Told me I wasn't there to ask questions. His bedside manner is a zero. Don't know about his knowledge. An unhappy unprofessional guy!

I realize that some reviews are not especially positive but my experience with Dr. Hessler was professional, efficient and caring. His staff and office reflect this doctor's approach to medicine and I do not hesitate to recommend him for a thorough, professional and comprehensive evaluation of conditions similar to mine. I am a retired vet with verified Agent Orange exposure during my tour in Vietnam.

Dr Hessler and his medical assistant took their time with me, explained each part of the Veteran review process as they performed them.

read these reviews, these people don't understand what the dr does or can do. The VA will only send him your records if it's something he needs cleared up. Example: Not back issues, but lower lumbar l4 l5 with nerve damage. . . . . Now how I was treated I felt like the place was a sham and was thrown up as a tv show prank, once I was called back into his office he said "so you know I am here to determine your abilities and record my findings to the va. They then place value on my findings aND go from there. I am not and do not have anything to do with money or rating, or if it's gonna increase your rate" I was so shocked, but he was blunt and straight to the point. When he asks you anything he wants a yes or no answer because that the way the VA wants it. Come on people, idiots, in the service you were given a test that was go or no go. So why cry over it when he wants the same. I was blown up and live my life in a bed crippled in pain. I have no life and all the va has ever given… me was 50% I expressed this to him. He said it was unfair and clearly it needed to be worded clear for them to see I need a high rating. Once I was done with his questions 99% with yes answers... I was so happy with him and the speedy trip and Dr visit. But after 2 months I figured it was a bust and I was denied, but 6mths after that a big fat lump sum was in my bank and 3 weeks later I got a letter saying what I was rated and why. In the past it always said if my records showed this I could increase x ammount, but this one said exactly what the dr wrote and he put it in words the va could work with and thus they gave me 100%. Just remember guys even if you feel good that day or week, don't say it. If any of the questions could have ever been a yes at any time then it's a yes! This man saved my life, I was able to buy a new mattress the va won't cover for the hospital bed the va did cover, I was also able to afford to pay for my shopping and cooking to get done so I am not pushing myself in more and more pain. This is an amazing man is truly there to help. Stop being a victim and show respect it does go along way. Put on a smile and shake hands, you will get your way 60% of the time.

Another "doctor" the VA is feeding money to in an effort to deny claims. This man was down right rude and offensive. I was so glad to leave his office. Took him and his nurse 30 minutes to decide if they were to administer a blood test when the decision was made to do one, another 15 minutes to find the materials to do it. After another wait, I got to go into his office. Like others, I had records to document my condition but he refused to look at them, saying if the VA had wanted him to see them, they'd have sent them. Well, the VA was on its backside and hadn't even requested my records at the time of the exam despite me signing release forms three times. This guy was like a defense lawyer (it was the VA he was defending) and wanted yes and no answers to questions to complete his little computer form and didn't give jack about any information the patient wanted to provide. An example was "do you have high blood pressure." Now, that's not a yes or no question. I have had a… history of high blood pressure for 20 years or more and have been prescribed medication for it. I'm not currently taking meds due to some other considerations. But he wanted to know - DO YOU HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, YES OR NO." Rude is the best I can describe him. I have no doubt this "doctor" screwed me big time with the VA -- and I'm sure the VA considers him one of their best. He should not be allowed to practice. PERIOD!

If this is same doctor that use to practice in Ohio something drastic has happened. He was so very kind and gentle with a remarkable friendly staff. I don't know what's happened to him, but at one time he was truly a remarkable and caring doctor. I was sad when he left Ohio to practice in Colorado. Something terrible must of happened to this wonderful doctor. I feel so remorseful for him.

Dr. Quack did my VA QTC evaluation. His office was not clean. Neither his staff nor he followed sanitary procedures. He did not measure my range of motion. He never put in the report that I was wearing a knee brace. His exam resembled a roadside sobriety test. Although that would have been more complete then his examination. Found another one of these sites that says he had to surrender his doctors licenses in Colorado in 2000. Sounds just like the kind of doctor the VA wants to examine their people.

I saw Dr Hessler one time for evaluation by VA for military related injuries. He left in the middle of my exam to get a hair cut and had his nurse that barely spoke english finish my exam.

Dr Hessler was to accomplish a military disability examination for QTC who is a subcontractor for the VA. He refused to accept my military medical record that had 3 physicians documenting my military disability. Since I am on medication for hypothyroidism, any blood test now accomplished would not reveal hypothyroid disease (T3/T4 test) but Dr. Hessler related he would do a blood test and if it did not show hypothyroidism then "I did not have hypothyroid disease" and that is what he would report to the VA via QTC!

My overall rating of Dr. Hessler is very poor. He is very disorganized. His office is not impressive as a Professional Office. It looks like he is hanging on by a shoe lace. His receptionist (when present) was unprofessional and somewhat rude. Dr. Hessler was also doing an evaluation on behalf of a third party. He had not reviewed my records prior to my visit, he did not ask me any pertinent questions about my medical history nor my work history, yet those were key elements that Dr. Hessler would need in order to perform a complete and professional evaluation.
