Dr. Dan Mason Dorough, MD

Has handled 2 of my surgeries and was great through them both. He explained everything in depth answered all of my questions. He is very personable and helpful. He will now be doing my hysterectomy and I couldn't be in better hands.

Dr. Dorough took his time explaining options and procedures. He was pleasant and talkative. He patiently answered all my questions.

He dismissed my concerns.

never thought I'd go online to do this but I'm so upset I had to. Dr Dan ( as they call him) was quick, kept looking at his watch, and quirky. He is supposed to be a good doctor but he's impossible to connect with. If you want an Ob you can relate to, make a different choice.

Dr Dan Is Amazing!!! I had a horrible experience with another Dr and went to Dr Dan had thought he was great the office was wonderful everyone is so friendly and happy to see me! I love going there and would recommend him to anyone and everyone. He spent plenty of time with me and explained everything so I understood and then sent papers home explaining everything in more detail Very Happy with him!

After seeing this doctor for the first time I refuse to go back and am looking into changing to a different OBGYN. There is no way I would let this crazy and uncaring doctor anywhere near me or my baby when I'm in labor. He rushed through the entire appointment and was only in the room with me for under 3 minutes. He did not divulge any information to me such as measurements, explanations of lab tests and results, etc...Also, when I tried to ask him any questions he became offended and started threatening me. When I tried to voice my concerns over the unnecessary tests he told me those were my problems, not his. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone, you wouldn't have any idea what was going on in your pregnancy!

I have been a faithful Dr. Dan Dorough patient for YEARS. He has delivered several of our babies and I always felt very confident in his ability as a doctor. That being said after the experience I had recently, I will NEVER, REPEAT NEVER set foot in that office again. After the birth of my child (which Dr. Dan could not be present for) I saw Dr. Dan for my 6 wk postpartum. I requested an IUD and was scheduled for an appointment to insert the IUD 2 weeks later. (a little irritating that I had to wait that long but I understand they are busy). Upon arrival for my appointment I checked in as usual and waited to be called by receptionist. I was called to the window and told I had an $81.00 copay for the services that day. I happily reached into my purse & whipped out my check book to write a check...As I lifted the carbon copy of my last check I realized I was out of checks. DANG IT! I did however have a $20 dollar bill on me & explained my situation to the receptionist and… offered the $20.00 to at least cover some of the days charges. (another pet peeve is EVERYONE in the waiting room is privie to your personal info as you try to explain yourself to the unaccomidating receptionist). I explained that I lived almost 2 hours away and that I do not have any credit cards. I asked if there was ANY way the services could be rendered. She stated she would talk to Dr. Dan and be back with me. In the mean time I ran to my car hoping & praying I had an extra check book somewhere in there. When I returned she informed me that unless I went to an ATM and got $$ that Dr. Dan would not see me. I again explained that I have been a patient of Dr. Dan's for years and have always paid my bills and that I drove almost 2 hours to get there. But it didn't matter. She insisted I reschedule for the next available appoinment which was of course over a month away. I was completely disgusted at this point and left. I know that I should have checked my checkbook before I left my house. It was an honest mistake anyone could have made. It was my mistake, but the the way I was treated was dispecable. I was unable to pay $61.00 (81 mius the 20 cash I offered) and was refused service regardless of my years of good standing as a patient. It is VERY sad that for $61.00, Dr. Dan would refuse service to a patient he has profited from for years (We're talkng thousands of $$). I am DISGUSTED by the thought that it's ALL about the almighty dollar to Dr. Dan and his staff. Bottom line, if you want a good doc with TERRIBLE customer service staff, then this is your man. Completely disheartened by the whole situation, make no mistake, it's not about the patients, it's ALL about the $$$ in this office.

THIS DOCTOR IS VERY RUDE AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE. HE HAS AN ATTITUDE THAT HE IS BETTER THAN EVERYONE AND WHEN YOU ASK HIM QUESTIONS HE GETS OFFENDED THAT YOU ARE ASKING QUESTIONS AT ALL. I WENT TO THIS DOCTOR FOR MY PREGNANCY AND BECAUSE OF HIM I HAD A LOT OF UNNECESSARY TESTS DONE. WHEN I WENT AND GOT A SECOND OPINION I WAS TOLD THOSE TESTS WERE NOT AT ALL NECESSARY.
