Dr. Dana Brian Jacoby, MD

After a particular rough experience at another local OBGYN group, I was in search of a better provider to guide my through my first pregnancy. I did my research, asked around to my local network of friends and family and read many glowing reviews for Dr. Jacoby in Tinton Falls. I was hesitant to go with a male OB at first but figured all of the reviews had some truth to them and decided to go schedule my first visit. Scheduling, wait time and staff were really great. The nurse who took my vitals and walked me through the first few minutes of the appointment was completely warm, welcoming and kind. This was a relief since my last experience a few weeks prior at another OB was the complete opposite. I felt relieved and excited that I found a better fit. Until I met Dr. Jacoby. His overall vibe felt very salesman-like, cocky and judgemental. He kept poking and prodding as to why I wasn't at the previous OBGYN group as if he knew beforehand. When I politely answered that it just… wasn't a good fit (sparing him the terrible details as to *why* it wasn't) and I didn't want to settle for something that didn't feel comfortable, he responded "Oh, so you're one of THOSE." and rolled his eyes. One of *what*, Dr. Jacoby? A woman who has a say in their pregnancy experience, their right to fair treatment and the guts to change a situation that feels wrong? That made me cringe. He continued to make a bunch of uncomfortable comments I won't go into that also made me want to crawl the walls. From there, he switched gears and started talking to me in a veerrryy sloooww manner as if I was dumb and he needed to explain everything to me like I was a child so I wouldn't be 'confused'. Obviously, I decided to move on from him as well and found a different provider who has been completely excellent every step of the way. I write all of this as I'm weeks away from giving birth to my first baby and can say that I truly will look back on this experience as the most magical and special time of my life thus far. I believe a lot of that is because I was an advocate for myself during those tough early weeks to fight for myself and my son and find a doctor that was up to par. Do not ever think you're being difficult or picky. If something or someone feels wrong - CHANGE IT. There are so many options out there. Hopefully this review helps someone else out there.

Dr. Jacoby is caring, interested and thorough. He treats the "whole" patient. He takes the time to listen to his patient and never rushes an appointment. You feel as if you are the only patient he's ever had. That is so rare in this day and age.

I absolutely love Dr. Dana Jacoby. He has been my doctor for many years, I first went to him when he was a partner in another office, and followed him when he opened his own office. He is very caring, and always takes the time to listen and give you the best possible advice. He is honest and straight forward as well, which makes him very easy to understand. I now live in Upstate NY, but I still travel to see Dr. Jacoby, and would never think of switching doctors. He delivered my daughter in 2010, and made my pregnancy as well as my delivery so much easier, by helping me understand every thing that was happening, was going to happen and did happen.

I was 36 weeks pregnant when Dr Jacoby took me on as his patient. Up to that point I had left my previous doctor because of the poor care I was receiving. Switching to Dr Jacoby was the best thing I could have done. He treated me like a daughter and gave me top notch service and care I only wished I would have found him sooner. He is informative yet not pushy a real people person and best of all informative. My birthing experience was awesome not to mention the hospital with which he is associated with could not have been better. Don't listen to the negative reviews if you see them I have had my share of bad doctors in monmouth county and this is NOT one of them. He is the only one in his field in monmouth county that I would recommend. Not to mention his office staff is absolutely incredible. His staff manager was so awazing to me I cannot sing her praises enough.......

Firstly, getting an appt was quick and easy. Office staff were very friendly and helpful. Dr. Jacoby was very compassionate and took the time to reassure me. He talked through my concerns and explained everything in detail. He made me feel so comfortable. I will definitely be continuing my care with Dr . Jacoby.

Dr. Jacoby disregarded my consistent plea that something was internally wrong. Unfortunately, i placed my trust in him and suffered a great loss. He does not listen to his patients and often acts as if he is concerned, however it is an act! I would never recommend him to anyone.

Great Doctor, spends alot time with you. Sometimes a wait in the office.

Doctor Jacoby is a great ob/gyn! He truly cares about how you are feeling both physically and emotionally. He is caring, gentle, and you never feel rushed. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Jacoby is the best doctor I've ever been to. I've been going to him for about 10 years and would never change OBGYN. He's the only doctor that I would honestly stick with for good!

I found Dr. Jacoby uncaring, snide, condescending, and at times downright rude. I think he is in the WRONG profession.I will NOT be returning to him.
