Dr. Dana Dement Jones, MD

Have been going to her for over 10 years and have had 2 kids and she has been great! Very caring and isn't rushed like most doctors

So, It was my first time trying to schedule an appointment for this OBGYN. I quickly decided to not make an appointment after speaking with her absolutely rude assistant working at the front desk. She was very cocky and laughed at me when I refused to give her something over the phone and stated that I would give it to her when I arrived. Long story short, if you are looking for an OBGYN who has nice staff and front desk staff. Do not pick this one. Hang up and call elsewhere. I'm sure the Doctor herself is nice, as she was recommended by a friend, but the scheduling woman I was speaking to made me turn away at once. I was also on hold for nearly ten minutes. Even after saying that I had a possible ovarian cyst and my family has a history of them and having to have them surgically removed, this woman ignored what I said and said the first available appointment was in MARCH. Nope. Looks like I'm going to have to drive to Nashville, which is a hour from me to see my old OBGYN instead.… Ladies, do yourselves a favor and look for someone else. If you want friendly staff, don't bother.

Dana Jones speaks 'down' to patients. Lacks Empathy and has 0 bedside manners. I'm educated in the medical field and she is the worst example of anyone that claims to practice medicine....Don't go here at any costs!!!

I love Dr.Jones I have been going to her for 5+ years And she also delivered my son a year ago. she took her time with me as this was my first child. She answered all oft questions and also my mothers questions. I wish she took tenncare because I would still be going there! I don't have one compliant. I told her that I only wanted her to deliver my son so we worked together to make sure she was the one on call! I like all the other dr's that work there also but Dr.jones is my favorite!! I would recommend her to everyone!!!!

I have been going to this practice for at least the past 10 years. I have never felt satisfied with any service other than the actual yearly exam. I am now pregnant for the second time and I delivered my first child with this practice at the old MTMC about 5 years ago. During my first pregnancy I met with my doctor a few times and they do shift you around to the other doctors so you have a chance to meet each doctor in the practice because you never know who will actually deliver your baby. They were not very open to my birth plan, and are not friendly to those who know they want a natural childbirth. I was basically told how everything was going to go, but I was more forceful and said no, I want things a certain way, and eventually got what I wanted. I returned there for the first few visits for this pregnancy, which included 3 ultrasounds over 3 weeks to determine how far along I was. The nurses I saw were not very compassionate and I had to wait for 2 hours with each appointment! I… think there is a major breakdown in the scheduling department and they overrun their nurses at least with too many appointments. There is never any reason for someone to wait 2 hours for what is ultimately 10-15 minutes in the room with the nurse. It is beyond ridiculous. I was also disgusted with a lady in the scheduling department when I called for my first OB appt. last month. I was given progesterone during my last pregnancy which they told me was to prevent miscarriage, so I wanted to be seen sooner because of this. The lady told me it would only be 3 more weeks before they would see me and I got a little hysterical. She did not care ONE BIT if I miscarried or not as long I just got off the phone and tried to make an appt for 3 weeks later. I was very upset by the lack of real care this practice has. I decided to find a new dr. and chose the nurse midwives at Vanderbilt. After requesting my records I got a letter from this practice saying since I am changing doctors they will no longer provide care for me in the future. Awful!

My visit was a first-time visit. I was very pleased with the way the office staff made me feel comfortable right away. Great staff, and Dr. Jones is very friendly and spent plenty of time with me, addressing all of my questions and concerns. Overall a very good experience.
