Dr. Dana Winston Mcginty, MD

Dr. McGinty is a kind, attentive, patient, welcoming, intelligent, and friendly doctor that I have thoroughly enjoyed calling my primary care physician for almost a decade now. Sadly, his new receptionist (his wife, apparently) shares none of those qualities. Her insistent gatekeeping, boorish inflexiblity, and incredible rudeness even when dealing with very simple corrections to prescriptions has turned a friendly community-oriented practice into an ugly, transparent money grab. I have been left with no choice but to end my relationship, very sadly, with my doctor because of his receptionist. That really sucks, and I couldn't be more disappointed.

Dr Mcginty and his staff are always friendly and accommodating. They are honest and open, answering any all questions you might have. I have been with their offices bd care for over 3 years.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mcginty for a few years now, and his practice has a few major issues. The first is timeliness. Unless you have a morning or early afternoon appointment, expect to wait over an hour just to get into the examination room. Then another 30 minutes or so waiting for the doc. The second is inattentiveness to patients’ needs. I have experienced a number of issues with prescription delays and mistakes, the latest resulting in me going days without critical medications. While I can abide tardiness, the issues with patient care verge on negligence. He needs to make serious improvements to his practice before i’ll consider visiting again.

The BEST medical office in DC hands down!

I have been a long time patient of Dr. Dana McGinty . Positive: * Pleasant and easy mannerism Negative: *Wait time for services is entirely too long * Does not follow-up with phone calls regarding health concerns * If calling about an emergency or what you feel is a health concern that may require immediate attention -office worker was booking a week later and showed no care or concern. *Asked if doctor could call me back regarding my condition and left my information- The doctor never gave a call back. *Went to the emergency room -reports were sent to the doctor and the doctor never followed up with a phone call *Called office explain I was coming from emergency and was instructed to follow up with doctor- I was still given an appointed one week later. Never was asked how was I feeling just very indifferent. * Would not recommend if dealing with major medical problems ( good for only minor problems)

Outstanding physician and wonderful assistant Dawn. There is never a time I call the office or visit and im not greeted with a warm smile and pleasant voice.. The atmosphere is loving and caring. I would highly recommend this office. Thank you soo much Dr. McGinty and Dawn,you two really take great care of me and the friends that I refer to you! Keep up the great work.

Great doctor, just needs to fix wait problems, sometimes over an hour wait.

I think the new location is better than the old. Dr McGinty was helpful and nice. The office manager,Dawn was very courteous and polite when I walked in: she greated everyone with a smile. i love this office,they're like family and i've only been there twice! i will be a life long patient now!

IT BECOMES DISHEARTENING WHEN THE HELP STAFF RUNS THE OFFICE.WHEN YOU CALL TO GET SOMETHING OR NEED SOMETHING TAKEN CARE OF IT IS VERY DIFFERENT THAN GOING TO WHITE OFFICES/NOT IN A GOOD WAY. THE HELP STAFF SHOULD HELP..NOT GIVE YOU ALL THE UNNECCARY ATTITUDE.

I called as an new patient one day and received an appointment the next. The office manager and receptionist,Dawn was very nice and patient. I would recommend Dr McGinty to everuone in need of a great doctor.
