Dr. Daniel T Altman, MD

This rating isn't about Dr Altman, it's about his staff (making appointments) I heard he is a very good doctor. My husband spine is shaped like a C in his lower back. He had went to another doctor and he did an x-ray and ordered an MRI and he referred him to Dr Dan Altman. I called and set up an appointment (gave them all my insurance information, mind you my husband is in a lot of pain getting up and down). His appointment was May 18th at 9:45 and I called 2 weeks before to set it up. They called him the day before May 17th and canceled his appointment because they don't take his insurance. REALLY YOU COULDN'T HAVE TOLD ME THAT WHEN I SET THE APPOINTMENT UP. NOW HOW MUCH LONGER IS MY HUSBAND GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT BEFORE I GET HIM INTO ANOTHER DOCTOR!!!! Isn't there a policy that you have to call and cancel your appointment 24 to 48 hours before hand or they'll charge your insurance if you don't??? It should work the same way for them!!!! IT WASNT EVEN 24 HR!! WHAT A JOKE!!!… RIDICULOUS!!!

Good Doctor! Didn’t understand the final results from the surgery! Loose 3-4 inches in height, if I would of understood I would not of got the surgery. Also I still have pain in my back, more of a discomfort and it’s been 19 months since surgery. In all fairness I was being treated for multiple myeloma cancer and was taking Chemo. My mind probably wasn’t working that well to understand. I would not of go the surgery if I would of been of sound mind.

He is the best

I broke my back in 4 places. Rods Bolts hardware. fusion and 2 spinal cages. I fell off the elliptical bike in therapy after 2 knee replacements. Hip Dr. (Er said my hip was bad) referred to Dr. Altman. I live in Mts and it is a 3 hr drive one way. The intake people were very unprofessional. They did not listen to my situation as my Sister will confirm. He took a complete back X-rays and when He came back into the room all he wanted to talk about was Ancestry. He couldn't wait to leave. Never respected me as a patient to discuss what is causing my pain. I asked fro a referral to my ortho dr in San Diego, CA. He refused. It took him 3 weeks to get an MRI. When we traveled. again 6 hours, he ordered a neck MRI.. My problem was in my lower back. His side kick Adam is a kiss "a$$$"istant. He would tell you one thing and tell the doctor something else. I finally, got my family doctor to do the MRI at the clinic in the mts. I sent Dr. Altman a copy. I waited 2 weeks. He never returned the… call I finally, threaten to call the Board of Directors to complain. He said I should go to Cleveland Clinic....REALLY! I finally got my family doc to refer to surgeon in San Diego, CA. Who is brutally HONEST. My hardware did bend in and to the left and I have a small cyst under my bone graft. We are going to hold off surgery until it's absolutely necessary. In the meantime, I am doing rowing and weights to stretch the tendons and if my leg or foot goes out then we will proceed with surgery. Now, How hard was that? I'm sure he is ok for minor back surgeries, but when it comes to complicated spinals you better get out of there as fast as you can. RUN FOREST RUN!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr Dan Altman. First my father was in a serious car accident and Dr Altman was able to put him back together. My father was 84 and his injuries were life altering. My husband had several spinal surgeries due to spinal stenosis and collapsed docs. Then my husband had to have neck fusion. My son had disc surgery by Dr Altman and last but not least my daughter had a serious fall that required lumbar fusion. We have gotten to know Dr Dan Altman and the kindness and professionalism he has shown throughout the years. There are no better Doctor than Dr Dan Altman. I thank God we were blessed with him in our life.

Went in to AGH on emergency due to difficulty with walking and was admitted. Dr Altman was the doctor assigned to me since I had never had any issues before. Dr. Altman immediately found the problem and scheduled the surgery. One year later I still feel I am recovering since two discs failed in my neck and placed pressure on my spinal cord however I am nearly back to normal with no complications from the surgery.

Don't see Dr. Altman unless you want a simple surgery. I found he and his PA to be very unprofessional if not unethical.

He repaired my tib/fib and ankle fracture . 24 screws and I barely have scars. He was amazing!

Dr . Altman . Is a very down to earth Dr as well as a person . He has very good bedside manners . I would highly recommend him to others .

Dr. Altman is a great doctor !!! He did my 5 level fusion last year with hardware and also went into my old 3 level fusion and replaced hardware and then connected all together !! A huge surgery and I had all confidence in him as a surgeon. He has a great bedside manner and took all the time I needed to answer my questions. Would recommend him to everyone !!!
