Dr. Daniel Brook Channell, MD

The office staff is less than desirable. I was a fresh post op patient with a surgical complication and the office referred me to my primary care MD. I've been in healthcare for 26 years and have decided to change providers after 6 years of dealing with the office staff.

I worked with his brother in law who recommended me Dr. Daniel Channel! Wow I'm so greatful that I met this doctor! He delivered my first baby. She was born from a emergency c section! When I couldn't stand the pain ( and no dilatetion ) from inducing it was 8 pm when I asked for him to come and perform the c section! At 8:30 pm he was there! What a great doctor! He spent time with all my questions and concerns and he was extremely professional and friendly! I never had any problem with his stuff, they always treated me nice! Highly recommend!

I have seen doctor Channell several times and once you actually have a chance to speak with him he answers all of your questions and you don't feel rushed. Unfortunately EVERY time I have an appointment to see him the wait has been between 45 minutes to an hour and a half. If the wait time is long every now and then I understand but it's been this way each time I see him. His office staff is not very friendly and are very short and cold with you. I like Dr. Channell but I've switched doctors because unfortunately it's just not worth it.

I went to all my OB appointments & delivered with Dr. Channell. He was very calm and wasn't quick to jump to conclusions which helped keep me from worrying during a stressful time in a woman's life. I never had a problem with his staff, they were all friendly and easy to call with questions. The longest time I had to wait was for one appointment because he was delivering a baby at the hospital so he was about 45 minutes late. Other than that it was around 15 minutes wait, if that for my other appointments.

I have been with Dr. Channell since 2004 & four births. He is a wonderful Doctor with a great bedside manner. He is kind, patient, and thorough. At times there as been a wait, but usually because of an emergency...babies come when they want. His staff has been courteous and helpful to me and my family. I was with a former group in Upland and was very unhappy. Such a positive change making the move with his group. Overall great experience.

I am looking for an OBGYN. My sister sees Dr. Channell, but he did not deliver her daughter because she did a water birth at a birthing center. Dr. Channell still helped her before her delivery and made her feel comfortable about her decision. As a person looking for a Dr, I am hearing wonderful things about Dr Channell, but TERRIBLE things about his staff; almost every comment is positive regarding him, but neg regarding his staff. For someone who is such a great Dr and loved by so many patients, why risk those relationships by having terrible staff?!?! If more patients bring the issue directly to his attention, maybe this terrible problem will be addressed, because I want him as a OBGYN, but I don't want to deal with all of the crap from his staff...

I went to see Dr. Channel for my yearly visit. This would of been the 3rd time I have seen him. Dr. Channel is professional and kind. He answers your questions and is helpful. The problem is with the main nurse. After waiting almost an hour, and having 3 patients go in before me, I went to change my appt. The receptionist calls the nurse and tells her I am leaving and want to reschedule. She comes up to me and shows me his schedule and tells me he is running behind. I told her I have been waiting for 50 min and she tells me that I should expect to wait 1 hour from my appt time to be seen. I asked why those other patients went in before me and she told me they are OB patients and are different. She seemed almost exasperated and incredulous that I was even daring to ask about my visit. NEVER again!

Doctor Channell is by far the best OB/GYN doctor I have ever been to. The only downside to having him is you have to take his office staff too. The tend to screw up the billing constantly. They sent be a bill for $350 dollars 18 months after my dates of service. After checking with my insurance I owed them nothing. In fact they owed me about $90. I recommend him fully, but just know that there will be some monitoring and work for you when it comes to his office staff!

It makes me laugh to read the other reviews, because they are absolutely true. Dr. Channell's office staff is terrible! He is a great OB-GYN, and I'm very glad he's going to deliver my baby. But his office staff makes everything difficult. They do harrass people about insurance; this is true- and they are often incorrect in what they say. Once I was told that my insurance only covered one ultrasound (totally incorrect) and another time, they told me my insurance had deemed my pregnancy a pre-existing condition and I wasn't covered at all (totally incorrect). But worst of all, I went to the emergency room one night and I called and left a message for Dr. Channell the next day, and I know that the hospital also faxed him the results of an ultra-sound they gave me, and his staff never passed either the fax or the message onto him! When I saw him at my next visit he had no idea that I had an issue. It's sad, but I don't know if I would use him again for another baby because his office… staff scares me with their incompetance.

Best Doctor I have ever seen. Dr. Channell is caring sensitive and always informative. The best in this area by far.
