'm a VA referred patient and just had an appalling initial visit & experience! I was sent away by Maggie after asking about the details on unknown/forecasted charges that VA doesn't cover $ disagreed with their financial agreement. The purpose of my appointment is annual visit/check-up. There shouldn't be any additional charges nor services provided without the patient/ VA approval. This place couldn't confirm the charges for VA to cover which translates hidden costs /fees & that's why they put so much pressure to signing/agreeing with their documents/agreements prior to getting seen. I recommended modification of the agreement since this is a VA referred appointment. Maggie said "I HAVE TO SIGN IT!" I laughed & said "No, you CANNOT make me sign something I don't want to sign." She ended up calling Billing department and I was told to leave. I asked for a manager or a POC to contact and was told to get one of their business cards by the window without any instructions or a POC (lack… of care/imperious behavior). See attached pic of their business card. Leaderships/managements need to remind FRONT DESK STAFF the reason/purpose of their jobs, to be kind, helpful, and resourceful! DO NOT ACCEPT VA REFERRALS/PATIENT IF YOU HAVE HIDDEN CHARGES/FEES. Below are the issues I experienced: - Difficult process to contact & reschedule an appointment. - No email and no call backs (called 3 days in a row and left several messages). -Text message incapable of accepting responses other than 'Yes or No". - Staff and appointment reminders/texts does not provide directions, specify room #, nor floor#. - Check in texts outside 48 hrs (too early) - Exorbitant mandatory paperwork (personal info irrelevant to referral/purpose of appointment) & devious financial contract/agreement. - Imperious front desk staff name Maggie.
