He delayed my treatment with misinformation, decided to teach a nurse how to do a b/p reading on my recently fractured arm. He should listen as the resident MD asks patient history questions and he would have known about my arm fx. There was no apology as I screamed in pain. Instead he knocked me out for 10-15 minutes, (to shut me up), so I was unable to relay the massive blood loss (60-75%) I had before calling 911 one and a half hours earlier . He remained uninformed and I later learned that he wrote into my record that a small spot of blood was noticed by me. I had lost 60-75% of my total blood volume and only received a transfusion 2 hours after my arrival at the emergency room. Perhaps all of the collapsed veins, my gray skin, and pulse 60/40 would have been a clue to him IF HE HAD REMAINED IN THE ER ROOM. He billed my insurance for “monitoring patient’s blood pressure”. I had been unconscious in the ambulance off and on as I traveled to the ER. My b/p was dangerously low… in transit. I arrived at 8 pm. He called-out loudly 85 minutes later “ Call the blood bank!” Yes Dr. C, you should have done that FIRST thing, not the LAST thing you did. It is disturbing to now learn that Dr. C is in a teaching position at UTSW Medical School there.

He bills under the name MARK COURTNEY. A very political Democrat, he moved to DALLAS TX from CHICAGO two years ago. He now works at UT Southwestern hospital in their E.D.

It’s not like you can choose NOT to be seen by him because he is in the ER room when you get there. Good luck!
