Dr Daniel M Estok II, MD

I had 3 rt knee replacement surgeries, none was done right, I couldn't walk. I insisted on going to Boston where Dr.Estock picked me even tho he has a long waiting list ,fixed my rt knee right be will also be doing my left hip replacement. I was ready to give up before I met him. He's easy to talk too, didn't have long wait to see him, he explained everything he was going to do and we made a plan.. excellent is all I can say .. best team in the country.. I feel blessed he chose me ...

I first came to know Dr. Estok three years ago. He was referred to me by another doctor who has since left the Brigham to take on a job in the corporate sphere. Dr. Estok takes on all of the most complicated cases involving knee surgery at the Brigham. He was highly recommended to me after 4 knee replacements, one due to severe infection. He was perfectly honest with me, and told me, that the best way to proceed was to due a complete fusion of the leg. This was difficult at first and still causes pain and discomfort, however; Dr. Estok never abandoned me. He has stuck it out and has continued to offer me the finest medical opinion that could possibly be rendered given my history. I am going in for a slight tune-up on the leg again, which cannot be contributed to his expertise, instead, it is my bad leg. If you are in need of the best of the best, look no further, he is your man.

I have had one hip replacement and one revision done by Dr Estok. He evened out my legs from a hip replacement by a previous surgeon and it is 10 years later and I am still great! I found him to be personable and his staff professionally

At first, Dr. Estock might seem distant. Keep going, and he will soften up if you do not react to first impression. He is excellent at the job. He fixed my hip for the fourth time. It was a long recovery, but I am walking and able to be without pain. What more can you ask.

Daniel Estok was arrogant and bordered on rude. He spoke at my mother, never asked her if she had any questions, and talked over her when she tried to ask one. He refused our request for a copy of the note from the visit (which my mother is legally entitled to). Overall, the guy was a complete jerk and we won't be going back to see him.

I feel that Dr. Estok is rude, self centered and condescending. After waiting for an hour and a half past my scheduled appointment time just to get into his office, he looked at my knees, and the scans and after a very short; almost cursory exam, told me that he could not fix the botched replacements in both my knees and unbelievably told me that amputation would be the only option he could offer to me to alleviate the constant pain I have. I was so shocked by that statement that I just got up and left there thinking that this guy was a nutjob.

I have been seeing Dr Estok since 2013. He revised my right knee then. (I had two total knee replacements before I saw him) Tremendous job!!!! It took me awhile to get used to the revision, although he explained it over and over to me--he's patient!!!.... and he was right. Always right. (I have learned since) Dr Estok can be dryly funny. And he's SO kind and sympathetic (empathetic?)--he knows what he's talking about. He has alot of experience. I will eventually need left knee revision, although it can wait for now---I have too many other medical issues going on--and guess what??? He knew and understood that. He didn't want to do it now because of that--let's wait and see...fine by me. I'm to call if there are issues before then of course. He knows his patients!!!!!!!! He knows what is going on--I wish he was a primary care physician, seriously--he would be amazing!!!!!!

I was recommended to Dr. Estok by one of his colleagues. I was seen by his PA, Kara. She was rude, condescending and out right hurtful. She told me I was "too fat" for a joint replacement. She stated by bmi was too high. She also stated that she was softening the blow for me as Dr. Estok can be very tough and come across insensitive. She stated that I was extremely unsteady on my feet and was in danger of falling, splitting my head open, having a brain bleed and possibly needing surgery unless I used crutches or a cane! I ended up walking out without seeing the doctor. I was humiliated and left in tears. Worst experience ever!

I am walking today because of Dr. Estok. He took excellent care of me and it was just as important to him that I walked again as it was to me. He replaced both my hips which were beyond destroyed. He and his staff took wonderful care of me throughout my two surgeries. He is honest and direct with you and explains everything to you in terms you can understand. Improving his patients lives is his number one priority. I cannot thank him enough and would recommend him to anyone needing a hip replacement. He has done over 6,000 of them so he knows what he is doing.
