Dr. Daniel Hamp Fulkerson, MD

Although a very well decorated and highly acclaimed doctor, Dr. Fulkerson had a very dismissive attitude regarding my herniated discs due to advanced stage degenerative disc disease. He simply assigned my condition as "not that bad" and said "it should get better over time" (my condition has worsened significantly in the two months proceeding that appointment). Finally, when I asked for at least a prescription for a nerve pain medication he nonchalantly wrote me two months worth of gabapentin, said "it may/may not work, we can try it, but if you want more than two months you have to see your PCP." Furthermore, he tossed me the way of his other neurosurgeon associate's pain interventionist for spinal column injections that severely exacerbated my pain. Finally, after requesting referral to Mayo Clinic for a second opinion (where I was cleared/set to have an appointment scheduled once they received a referral), the neurosurgeon for whom my pain interventionist worked denied the request… as "they were not in a position to do so." I was highly upset. This was my absolute worst patient experience and I would warn anyone seeking treatment through Goodman/Campbell Brain and Spine to look elsewhere.
