Dr. Robert Alan Yount, MD

Dr. Yount saved me from life in a wheel chair. After years of pain and many visits to different doctors, one who told me, "What do you expect? You're preganant." Dr. Yount removed a central rupture of a disk in my lower spine. The pain from the rupture had increased over years and was so bad that I would have taken the wheel chair if the pain would have stopped. He was kind, direct, and his skill brought me back to a whole person. I have enjoyed a full life filled with hard work and fun for the last 26 years. Thank you, Dr. Yount.

This is about a surgery by Dr. Yount about 10 years ago, but I have just heard someone say how pleased they had been with him, and I had to add that I will never forget the excellent care, and attention when he did laser surgery on my back. Surgery at 7:30 AM, home at 4 PM, complete recovery in short time, and now in my 88th year, my back still works great. He is truly a wonderful doctor.

I will say he is a very upfront dr. He did my brain aneurysm in 2006 and I came home to being normal as I was before the brain aneurysm wish he was still around cause now I have another one and I know he would do a awesome job I loved his work and how he was 100%honest with me and family never a rude man

Dr. Yount is a superlative neurosurgeon who has operated on my back on several occasions. He takes ample time to explain in detail the situation, the method of treatment and the prognosis for recovery. He always takes the time to answer any of my questions in depth until I have the answers I need. I feel very fortunate to have had his expertise working for me. There is no doubt in my mind that I am able to live a normal life without serious pain or crippling disability because of his great skill as a surgeon.

Dr. Yount is rude & disrespectful. He was annoyed that I even came. He told me it was a waste of time. And he didn't even acknowledge my husband. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Yount did a back closure for my newborn daughter and a week later performed the shunt placement for her as well. She was unexpectedly born with Spina Bifida. Right away I felt like he was "on our side". He was blunt, yes, but I needed that. He cares about my family and did fantastic work. I am so confident in his work and would recommend him to anyone, unless you want a softy doctor who will sugar coat things (he won't do that).

I am blessed to have him as a Doctor! He knows what hes doing. He has taken the time to get to know me and my spine. He is determined to help get me back to having some quality of life. Focusing and fixing one problem at a time.

I'm sorry to say that about a physician, but in my experience this really describes Dr. Yount. He thought he knew everything about me and came to a conclusion and diagnosis before meeting me in his office for the 1st appointment. This diagnosis of his proved to be completely wrong. He had an attitude that he knew everything and was very full of himself. Perhaps he is an intelligent person but his personality is really a problem. I would recommend getting a second opinion or seeing a different doctor if you were planning to see him.

I believe he is a great doctor, but I think he should spend more time with his patients, also think he has too much work on his hands,

The diagnosis was inaccurate and led to catastrophic results.
