Dr. Daniel L Jacoby, MD

Excellent experience. Dr. Jacoby is always kind, courteous, informative, interested and interesting.

The Jewish people have a word for it, "mensch". In other cultures the word would be angel, or some such thing. Those words come closest to describing Dr. Jacoby. After developing a virus which attacked my heart, and dealing with second rate physicians I developed cardiomyopathy and was checked into Stamford Hospital in full heart failure with an effraction rate of 10% and very near death. The hospital assigned me to an ancient doctor who advised me that my heart was destroyed and my lone hope was to get a heart transplant, because my heart, "would never return". After being discharged and laying around at home anticipating death, through fortuitous circumstances I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Jacoby. He examined me meticulously with his aide de' camp Annie Rodan. Ultimately, he said, " they have given you the wrong diagnosis, you have myocarditis, an inflamation of the heart. I can treat this, and you should be better in a few months". Within in a matter of weeks,… thanks to Dr. Jacoby's genius, my heart was fully recovered. It has been an extraordinary experience meeting Dr. Jacoby, but has made it very difficult to return to any common place doctors. Thank you Dr. Jacoby for saving my life.

The staff at Dr. Jacoby's is atrocious - bad enough to make you think twice about seeing him. They cancel/reschedule appointments via US Mail and are incredibly rude over the phone. They cancelled my appointment 5 times, without a phone call (only separate letters in the mail, one that never came and caused me to arrive from out of state on what was apparently the old appointment date). When I called a year later to make an appointment, they blamed the 5 cancellations on ME. Unbelievable. If the staff had even an ounce of politeness, the scheduling idiocy wouldn't be so infuriating, but their lack of human interaction skills is appalling. Dr. Jacoby, take your staff to sensitivity training ASAP. Unbelievable.

Dr. Jocoby and his staff are most likely the reason I am able to write this review. If not for Dr. and his I.C.U. team I would have been just a memory. I can't thank Yale-New Haven and their staff enough.

Very thoughtful, considerate, and intelligent. Highly recommend.
