Unprofessional, poor listener and inappropriate. Makes you feel as though you are wasting his time and he doesn’t want to be there. Instead of addressing chief complaints he opined on unrelated areas, which he has no expertise in. All the qualities that should prevent visiting with this provider which was a big waste of time . Find a compassionate, educated qualified physician.

Dr. Macgowan refused to acknowledge any external test results or diagnoses I provided him with the documentation for in advance of our appointment. He did not offer me the opportunity to do any testing through his office. He told me one of my medications, an antidepressant that I take for pain management, was the cause of all my issues and I had no neuropathy issues whatsoever. I was a few weeks later diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy by skin punch biopsy at another clinic. Maybe if you are a man this doctor will believe your symptoms, otherwise, steer very clear away.

He is no nonsense and straightforward. His examination was extremely thorough and he found my problem where others were unsure. I made the mistake of not using his referral as a friend had recommended someone else. But I soon realized my mistake and reached out to Dr MacGowan. He called me back and referred to an excellent surgeon.

Extremely belligerent from the very first minute. Jumps to immediate conclusions without doing any thinking. The worst doc I have seen, and unfortunately, I have seen more than a few.

Dr Daniel doesn’t understand when the patient is in pain and don’t want to run diagnostic, but still insisted to run diagnostics. On December 8 I had a appointment for diagnostic I explained that I was in pain and don’t wanted to run the electric stock of my nerves,however he still did tha diagnostic and caused me pain stressed and anxiety on the visit. I do not recommend this neurologist to anyone

Visited Dr MacGowan for follow-up on brain surgery I had in the UK. I have been suffering from numbness, and pins and needles in my left arm and want to find out if symptoms were caused by brain surgery or recurrence of earlier ulnar surgery. Dr MacGowan was extremely thorough in his questioning and examination and immediately ordered tests including a brain MRI. He called me with results of tests the following evening and gave me encouragement/confidence to try to move on with life post brain surgery. An extremely caring neurologist, with a lovely Irish brogue.

If you are looking for the best doctor in America see doctor Macgowen. If you are going to be bothered by the mans incredibly poor bedside manner, put your big girl/boy pants on and do anything you can to get an appointment with him.

Dr MacGowan diagnosed me right away and probably saved my life. He got me in to see a specialist in one day. He gave me life advice and I owe him my gratitude. Now my battle begins but at least he gave me the weapons to fight. The best doctor around!
