Dr. Daniel A Nicholson, MD

I was very pleased with my appointment for a second opinion for rotator cuff tears. He took the time to review the MRI and explain the injury and options for care. He was very caring and answered all of my questions and concerns. He and his team were very professional and I am confident that I am in good hands when it comes timefor my surgery. I would highly recommend him for caring and personalized treatment.

I don't usually write reviews but I felt I needed to regarding my recent visit with Dr. Nicholson. When he asked me what was wrong I started explaining my back and leg issues and he cut me off. Guess I was talking too much for him. He was very cold and flippant when talking to me and I felt like he was talking down to me. At one point he asked me to walk on my tip toes and every time I would try to stand on my tip toes I would feel shooting pain through my leg. He said "it looks like you're having a stroke...just forget it" I was humiliated. He asked why I never went to see a Neurologist back in 2016 and I let him know that I lost my job and health insurance at that time so I couldn't follow up, he rolled his eyes (I don't even think he realized he did it!) When he couldn't pull up results from a previous MRI he cursed out loud. Very unprofessional. At times he acted like I wasn't even in the room holding extensive conversations with his Assistant regarding the computer system,… software suggestions and computer links. He did some testing then told me I needed MRI's on my upper and lower back. I asked about my knee he said I didn't need one on my knee. I asked if he was sure because my previous X-Ray (one week prior) results from Wellstar said that I may have a possible fracture. He then got upset because he said none of that was in my records (which I provided to his office). When he exited he didn't say I hope you feel better or anything nice, he just left and said to follow up after testing. I asked his assistant for a note for my job. I then heard him say out loud (outside my door) "Okay, here we go!!" Then he walks in, shuts the door, sits down, crosses his arms and says "You wanted to see me??" with an attitude. I was confused because I didn't ask for him. Then I realized he thought I was going to ask him for pain killers, why else would he be so pissy, standoffish and make that comment of "here we go" outside my door??? I was offended! I let him know I didn't ask for him but I asked his PA for a note for my job. He goes "was this done for you before" and I said "yes I had notes for my previous employer" Then he says fine and left abruptly. It was just an unpleasant experience. Maybe he was having a bad day but I didn't deserve this treatment or his attitude!!

This site says there are 7 reviews, but only one showed up. It was a 5-star, glowing review, so guess that needs to be balanced out. Dr. Nicholson might be knowledgeable enough, but he's certainly not compassionate, caring or even very tactful. And he sent me limping out the door when it turned out I had a broken hip! Yet he's too egotistical to think of admitting he made a mistake. In fact, his esteem of himself was difficult to see around the entire time I was in the office. He reminds me of the immature high school football stars who truly think they are so much "all that", that he simply can't treat his patients with respect. A doctor with an ego that size is bound to make mistakes. After all, he's so busy making sure you know how great he is that he forgets what he's supposed to be doing.

Best care ever! Dr. Nicholson is extremely thorough, and explains everything extremely well. He is very knowledgable in all the latest advances in his field. He is kind, compassionate, and caring. I totally recommend this physician.
