Dr. Rexroth only spent 10 mins with me at end of my assessment. His grad students did all of the assessing. I have stage 3 Congestive Heart Failure, Coronary artery disease, 3 stints, had two heart attacks, have Type II Diabetes and I am insulin dependent, peripheral artery disease, hypertension now cognitive impairments. After 36 years of successful professional employment I lost my last two jobs because of inability to track details, remember appointments, was unable to identity the patient names and files, placef the clinical notes in the wrong files, displayed functional memory problems and difficulty learning new tasks. At the end of the review Dr. Rexroth came into the room where my wife and I were seated and interpreted the results. He said that the results were invalid because I didn't honestly engage the first of several tests. He argued that even people with moderate Alzheimer's disease ace that tests and that I failed it miserably. Therefore, he concluded that I had… deliberately faked my answers in order to get bad results, in other words I was trying to scam the tests in order to get SSDI. He said that because I had deliberately fared poorly on the first test I had invalidated all the other tests on which I did poorly. As a result he offered three causal possibilities for my symptoms and poor performance 1) Somatic Symptoms Disorder which means some form of mental illness is causing the real symptoms for which there is no clinical evidence 2) I have Factitious Disorder which means I was consciously faking my illness for financial gain 3) Malingering which means I was faking my symptoms in order to avoid work. In other words I was perpetuating a huge and prolonged scam so I could rip off Social Security. If his conclusiobs are correct I have consciously feigned symptoms for the last five years, lost two positions in a career I have enjoyed for 3 1/2 decades, lost $42,000/year in wages, deliberately lost my health insurance and have successfully conned my Primary care physician, my Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, my last two employers and all my friends and relatives including my wife who is a psychiatric RN. Why would I deliberately sabotage my $72,000/year career for a mere pittance from Disability? He said my results made no sense but in reality he made no sence. He met me for 10 minutes and arrogantly accused me of malfeasance. My psych NP who has know me for more than 10 mins was appalled by the results and is arranging for me to get a second opinion. This man is a lazy quack who treats each patient as if he is doing Forensic Psychology evaluations. He is self important, arrogant, offensive and an over confident legend in his own mind.
