Dr Daniel Schlatterer

Dr. Schlatterer is a very competent surgeon. The office staff could use much improvement. Calls to the nurse are not returned. I was running a fever after leaving the hospital and reported this in many messages. It turns out that I had Hospital Acquired Pneumonia caused by a staph infection.

I personally would say this man is THE BEST FOOT DR! Dec. 2006 I was involved in a car accident which involved me getting a life flight to Atlanta Medical. My 17 day stay at the hospital involved him placing and removing an external fixture from my femur. Placing a rod in my femur having to go through my back, and setting up a tendon transfer for my pointer finger due to the degloving of my hand. His most remarkable work was done on my right foot. The soft soled shoes that I was wearing and my foot being on the brake pedal when the lady hit me caused all the bones, tendons and musles in my foot to dislocate and push out the side. Dr. Schlatterer repositioned everything and 'rebuilt' and placed 3 pins in my foot to hold everything in place till the foot healed. At one point I was 24 hours from amputation due to infection, and I do have some limitations now, BUT I still have a funtioning foot and for most part get around well!

I fractured my heel bone in a climbing accident in 2010. I went to a highly regarded foot surgeon in Atlanta to seek treatment. He simply told me that he would not know what he would do until I was under the knife. We're talking either fusing my heel bone (meaning lateral movement is non existent, for the rest of my life) or trying his best to fix it to the tune of 30K not including hospital costs. I decided to get another opinion. The resident at the first surgeon suggested Dr. Schlatterer. I went to see Dr. Schlatterer and he looked at my CT scan, looked at me and said he's seen way worse and he was confident he could fix it. I went with Dr. Schlatterer. The surgery (ORIF) was a success. My post op visits were great, very friendly staff and two years later I'm back to everything I enjoy.
