Dr. Daniel J. Simon, MD

1 hour 20 mins late for his own appointment; then, to top it off, haughty, snippy, and unhelpful. Avoid.

Very disappointed in my experience with my contact exam with Dr. Simon and NCEENT. I was billed $459 for a contact exam. This was the most routine contact exam possible. I called NCEENT for an appointment and was told the next available would be in two months with Dr. Simon which I accepted. Turns out Dr. Simon does not accept my insurance even though NCEENT was listed on my insurance as in-network. I spent less then 10 mins with Dr Simon in the patient room. This $459 contact exam also included two additional students whom were observing Dr Simon. Interactions between Dr Simon and the students consumed most of the appointment. I felt very insignificant throughout the appointment. Almost like I was a burden to Dr Simon. I left knowing I would not return again as I’ve never left a dr office feeling that way. Four months later I receive the bill for $459 which is when I learned Dr Simon does not participate in my insurance.

Just never felt confident in the doctors decision making. In my opinion in has a negative, unfriendly edge in his demeanor. I never felt comfortable as he seemed annoyed with questions and concerns.

One day out from cataract surgery and the world looks new to me - brighter and clearer already. The staff at NC Specialty Hospital was professional and friendly. I was a bit anxious about eye surgery, but the nurses and doctor put me at ease and everything went smoothly. Five stars all the way.

I got Wavefront LASIK from Dr. Simon about two months ago, and it's by far the best money I've ever spent! The cost includes all of the follow up appointments, and if I ever need an enhancement, it covers that too. I went from 20/400 in one eye and 20/200 in the other, to 20/20 in both eyes and better than 20/15 overall! Dr. Simon and his staff were professional, had great bedside manner, and made me feel very comfortable before, during, and after the procedure. He let me know what to expect upfront, so I had no surprises, and everything went according to plan. I woke up the next morning and could see, and it's only been getting better since. I highly recommend NC EENT for LASIK, and particularly Dr. Simon.

I was diagnosed with cataracts on both eyes and the eye doctor that I was seeing at the time of my diagnosis had stopped doing cataract surgery so she recomended Dr. Simon to do my cataract surgery on both of my eyes.I thank GOD that she recommended Dr. Simon because the surgery on both my eyes turned out wonderful.I have had no problems since my surgery as a matter of fact I no longer need my thick glasses to see clearly.In my opion Dr. Simon is a great surgeon I would recommend Dr. Simon to anyone who needs cataract surgery.He is also a wonderful person who cares about all of his patients he even called me personaly to see how I was doing the night I went home from the out patient hospital where he perfomed my surgery.his post op care in his office after each of my procedures was second to none.He is on staff at N.C. EYE EAR NOSE AND THROAT and they should thank GOD as I do he is there to take care of patients who have eye problems

Dr Simon is an outstanding physician. I had cataract surgery on both of my eyes with included both eyes having lens replacement. Dr Simon was great in explaining what was going to happen and things to expect after surgery. His professional manner was spot on but most important was his human manner that made me feel comfortable and secure. D. Simon is just simply outstanding physician. I have already recommended him to all my friends that are having eye problems and I am very confident he will give them the same expert and professional care that he gave me. Thank you Dr. Simon. I now have 20/15 in both eyes.

Dr. Simon performed Lasik on my eyes to restore my vision to 20/20 (actually its now 20/15!). His took a ton of time to make me feel comfortable with the process, was the doctor I saw for both pre/post operations. During the operation, he took time to explain each of the steps and made sure that I was comfortable before moving forward. I highly recommend Dr. Simon for Lasik. Additionally, I would advise anybody looking to get Lasik to research the difference between having a medical doctor, like Dr. Simon, support the pre/post operation appointments rather than getting handed off to an optometrist to understand the difference. Because it is HUGE!
