This doctor is the very best and knowledgeable in his field of hydrocephalus (and VP Shunt removal), which I was treated for. With more that 30 years of experience on his belt, his "know-how" and ability to strategically tackle the obstacle was prompt and assuring. I just hope his fellows, and colleagues can also learn from him and further improve this VERY-much-needed treatment/remedy in the field.

I went to Dr. Rigamonti because I had shunt surgery which was botched by another doctor who decided to do it all by himself, taking shortcuts and ruining my life. Dr. R. like most other drs. would rather lie, cover over terrible mistakes to help another dr. My life is being shortened because I cannot breathe as tubing is coiled around my diaphragm and Dr. R told me to go back to my primary dr who cannot help me. Dr. R can but refused to. He had a plastic surgery patched the shunt back in when it fell out and lied about that too. He was gruff, rude and angry-I didn't cause the first dr to mess up surgery but I am paying for it.

Dr. D. Rigamonti is # ONE. You couldn't ask for a better doctor. He has excellent bedside manner and a wonderful staff.

i have arnold chiari malformation and hydrocephalus in the winter my shunt failed a total of 10 times after the 6th time it failed my ns for chiari sent me to dr rigamonti because they r friends and he new dr rigamonti would help! he has been absolutely wonderful!!!!!!

Dr. Rigamonti is by far the best doctor. I trusted him completely with my life. I felt comfortable with him and never regretted my decision to have chosen him as my surgeon.

Despite my son being a new patient (referral from pediatric neurosurgeon), the office staff was extremely considerate and helpful, directing us to the emergency room because of suspected shunt failure, which did in fact require surgery, and notifying Dr. Rigamonti and his team of residents. Dr. Rigamonti was wonderful...very caring, took time to explain everything. We feel very fortunate to have found him.

Just confused by angry treatment. I have since moved on to a new neurosurgeon. The office staff is awful.

My 33 daughter Angela, has had hydrocephalus since she was 8 weeks old.. she's had her ups and downs.. In 2005 I had been taking my daughter to Thomas Jefferson PA, because of shunt over drainage .. with in a twelve month period my daughter ended up having 9 surgery's. After this happened .. I ended up taking her to DR Rigamonti.. Dr Rigamonti saved my daughters life! I have the upmost respect for this Dr.. as he is one of the most compassionate and understanding Dr's that I have ever met..My daughter, also has special needs was treated with so much respect...
