Dr. Danielle Renee Doucet, MD

Dr. D Doucet made multiple mistakes during my mom’s surgery including nicking the iliac vein causing a massive hemorrhage, cutting the spleen which required an unplanned emergency splenectomy and also puncturing the pancreas which caused pancreatic fluid leaking that was not identified until weeks after the surgery. These mistakes during surgery, the surgical after care along with sub-par hospital care at Aurora Medical Center led to my mom spending over 30 days in the ICU and eventually she passed away in hospice, 5 weeks after surgery. This was the worst experience our family has ever had with a medical team.

It was an awful experience with this doctor. I had done the ultrasound prior to my appointment with her. She was running behind and I had to wait 1.5 hours to see her. When I finally did see her she kept talking about "oh you'll have to have an ultrasound for your right leg" and I told her I did a week prior. A doctor should read the whole patients info including tests done (ultrasounds). SMH
