Dr. John Logan Shuss, MD

I went to Dr. Shuss because I needed a biopsy done to see if I had "Paget's Disease" of the breast. He did the biopsy and he knew I was scared of what the results would be. When I was called back into his office, he was very kind and said he had been dreading having to tell me, but it was cancer. We scheduled the surgery for the following Monday. That Monday morning, before the surgery, he went above and beyond as he called to make sure that the surgery was our only option. How many doctors would put their patients' fears before their own surgery schedule. He continues to monitor my status each year. Yes, I wouldn't hesitate to have him operate again.

I am not sure if the previous reviewer saw the same surgeon that I took my daughter to. Dr. Shuss was patient and kind with my adult daughter (who is on disablity for a number of reasons)and treated both of us with respect. This continued through the surgery and the follow up visits.His office staff was great working with us and setting up surgery time during Christmas week.I would not hesitate to take my daughter back to him (if needed) or go see him myself if necessary.

My daughter-in-law needs her gall bladder removed. After a 15-20 day span of pain she saw a doctor. She was given tests and referred to Dr. Shuss. He diagnosed her gall bladder to be working at 9%. He said he removes gall bladders at 32% and lower. She complained of stabbing pain in her back. He was very condescending and told her the back pain was from lying around and that she was suffering from anxiety.Yes, having constant pain and not being able to eat for over two weeks might make one anxious. He would not schedule surgery until she went through the process of applying for county assistance. She does not have health insurance although she and her husband both are employed. It would take 10 days for an interview with the county. My daughter-in-law kept in touch with Dr. Shuss' office. Last week, she was told that after the interview this week, surgery could be scheduled right away, a day or two after the county process. Well she called Dr. Shuss' office today, Monday, to find out… if Wednesday or Thursday will be best for surgery, and they tell her DR. SHUSS IS LEAVING TOMORROW FOR A PLANNED TWO WEEK VACATION!! Unbeleivable. We and all of our acquaintances will NOT be reccommending this surgeon.
