Dr. Danny Fong, MD

His manner, his expertise, his availability are unparalleled. He is one of the best plastic surgeons and hand surgeons in NYC. His office staff are fabulous, very well run efficient but caring office.

Both my Grandmother and I have been patients of Dr. Fong so I can attest to the fact that he is an excellent surgeon. Dr. Fong does wonderful reconstructive surgeries. My grandmother was very self-conscious because she had eye one that appeared smaller than the other eye. Twenty-five years ago when Dr. Fong first started his private practice, he performed eye lid surgery on the one that was smaller. The result was amazing because it balanced out the size of her eyes. She was already 73 years old when he performed the surgery and she did not have any problems recoverying after surgery. Last year, I had two ugly scars on my forehead and eyebrow from a bad accident because the skin did not heal properly. Dr. Fong did a superb job of stitching up the scars. The majority of people cannot tell that there was ever a scar present at the two locations. He also has a courteous and professional staff. The young women at his front desk are very sweet and his surgical assistants is… very capable. They always accommodated my busy schedule so it was easy to schedule my appointments to see Dr. Fong. The doctor made sure that they called me for follow-up after visit.

Dr Fong was really great, especially after seeing 3-4 different people who wouldn't have removed the mole I had between my toes. Very caring and considerate. I would go back to him in a heartbeat. His office staff are equally as good and went out of their way to fit me in as quick as possible. thanks!!

Dr Fong removed some pre-cancerous moles for me. In both cases he made sure I had a copy of the biopsy report from the lab, and in the case where one of the moles required more follow up, he moved his schedule around to get me in ASAP. A really friendly doctor and my scars are minimal!

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Fong at all. First of all I waited almost an hour to see him. Second of all I didn't feel he did a thorough job examining me. Third of all he had a doctor-in-training the whole time I was there and she was more helpful than he was. He was not friendly at all and he spent more time talking to the doctor-in-training than he did me (the patient).

He has no bedside manners, enters the room after you have waited for him for a long time as if you have already begun to waste his time, seems agitated before you ask him the first question or define your condition. He is uneasy and wants to get the visit over with as soon as possible; you have to work hard to try to get him to communicate with you. He took an x-ray, charged my insurance company about $1,100 for the x-ray and one office visit. His office visits are about $350; therefore, one x-ray cost $750. He quoted a very high price to perform in-office surgery so I went to pick up the x-ray from his office to see another. I was not permitted to take my x-ray, only a terrible XEROX. The front desk asst. tried to refuse to make a better photocopy. The doctor… that performed surgery looked at Dr. Fong's xerox and laughed. He had to take x-rays all over again. Danny Fong bloats his prices, is rude and seems entirely uninterested in his patients or their welfare. It is illegal to withhold x-rays from patients who have paid for them. For $350 a visit patients should be treated with respect and care.
