Saw this DO in the ER. Had shortness of breath and swollen ankles and high BP. Did EKG and CT chest and labs. Never even came within 5 feet of me. Never listened to my lungs. Gave me an RX for high BP and sent me on my way.

I was overseen by this doctor at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center for dyspnea. I was having trouble breathing, couldn't lie down without severe anxiety from the feeling of breathlessness. I may only be 36, but have an extensive health history including autoimmune conditions and a family history of young heart disease. I was given an ecg and chest x-ray and was diagnosed with a chronic cough and they tried to send me on my way. With an impending feeling that the feeling of suffocation may occur after leaving i panicked and became emotional. My fiance begged them to give me an echocardiogram since i've had chest pain and dyspnea. I was denied and then they added a diagnosis of PANIC ATTACK and sent me on my way. It took almost 5 months of suffering before my primary finally sent me for my echo, only to find out I have mild mitral regurg, moderate tricuspid regurg, pulmonary regurg, and an alarming pulmonary hypertention pressure at rest. I am now being sent for a full pulmonary function… test, but as for being young and a chronic pain sufferer, I was quickly dismissed. This physician and his nurse practitioner cost me months of unnecesarry suffering.
