poor bedside manners! Arrogant and is always on a hurry... didnt took time to listen to my concerns feels he is superior but no attitude... other than that staff was nice

I felt very comfortable talking about uncomfortable subjects with Dr Yen. Good bedside manner, not rushed, good communication.

Dr. Yen is a brilliant physician. In addition to exceptional technical skill, Dr. Yen is warm, friendly, and approachable. While I am disappointed he is no longer with Sutter Medical Foundation, the Marshall community is lucky to have him.

I would not recommend this MD to anyone. Poor communicator. Knowledge base is not up to date. Does not perform any testing nor even a physical examination before giving a diagnosis. This is just a dangerous way to practice medicine and lends to real safety issues that could cause one to be misdiagnosis. Dr. Yen is especially poor at communication and does not lend to an open dialogue and discussion with his patient that would lend to further insight to make those correct diagnosis based on all the information.

Dr Yen is my doctor and I am surprised by negative reviews. I went to two prior doctors who were horrible and left me with no idea how to treat my UC and a botched colonoscopy. Dr. Yen redid the colonoscopy & not only explained my condition in detail but helped me with medication decisions & was very caring.

I went over a year to go back and needed a referral to see him again although my insurance doesn't require one. He diagnosed my problem correctly.

This doctor is totally incompetent, misdiagnosed my stomach problem which got a lot worse instead of better.

Early on when Dr Yen was building his practice, he shook our hand coming into the room and at the end of the appointment, was friendly & personable. Two years later, no handshake at all or friendly manner. He spent ample time with us, but exhibited annoyance with my elderly mom, scolded her & brought her to tears. Although he provided a couple of suggestions, his approach & attitude towards her was uncomfortable to say the least. I do not recommend him for the elderly.
