Dr. Darin Kimball Allred, DO

Dr. Allred replaced my hip 3 years ago and I have had no trouble with it since. I was assured by Dr. Allred that he was very good at fixing my trigger fingers, I am very disappointed in the outcome of this surgery. His technique was obviously flawed because I have large scars from the surgery and the tendon is protruding from the base of my fingers. I have had trigger finger surgery before and the result was much better. Bottom line is - don't let a hip doctor perform surgery on your hands.

My passion is hiking. It's how I met my husband and why we chose to live here. I had to have my hip replaced (bone on bone). Just after 5 weeks, I am back on the trails with my husband! Dr. Allred made me feel safe in his care and was confident he would get me back to my life! I am getting stronger each day and love my new hip! Thank you Dr. Allred and your team too! You have extended the quality of my life and I am very grateful.

Over the past three years, my wife has had a total hip replacement, a fractured elbow replaced and now a total knee. Each was done by a different surgeon. The hip and knee were trauma situations (different events) while the knee was necessitated by arthritis. Although each was a unique circumstance, when comparing the personalities, concern and attitude of the three surgeons, we felt Dr. Allred was more patient and willing to deal with her anxiousness about the procedure than the other two physicians. That isn't to say the others weren't concerned, they were, its that Dr. Allred was much more so. He's done hundreds of knee replacements, but he understood this is the first one my wife has done and he was willing--anxious even--to address her concerns. He was more than happy to take whatever time was necessary to address each of her questions. He wanted to make certain she was at ease (as much as possible when faced with major surgery) with the procedure. It is difficult… (impossible?) for a patient to judge the technical skill of a surgeon prior to surgery, but it is an easy thing to determine his/her ability to connect with a patient, and in our opinion, Dr. Allred is exceptional.

I had bilateral knee replacements just over two weeks ago. When I was seriously considering knee surgery, my husband and I did some checking in hopes of receiving the best care possible. We heard of Dr. Allred by word of mouth and verified the information by going to healthgrades.com. Dr. Allred wanted to make sure that I had considered other options before scheduling surgery and even though he didn't offer a lot of information, he answered questions and addressed the concerns I had. He was great to sit with my husband following surgery and explain how it had went. His assistant, Dr. Tanner Smith and nursing staff were wonderful. They made me feel like I was a super star for the attempts I made to succeed while at the hospital. I also feel like I have been guided into the best possible recovery methods, which includes aspects such as medication, medical equipment and physical therapy. I have several weeks until I reach full recovery, but I am extremely pleased with the care I have… been given and the rapid progress I am making.

I was a worried about doing my hip surgery, but I'm so glad I listen to Dr Allred and went through with it. I was taking a lot of ibuprofen every time I went hiking. Its been 3 months, and now I take nothing, and I'm hiking 9 plus miles a hike, over the top of really rough Terrain and enjoying the best hiking of my life. So glad I didn't wait until the pain was too much to hike with. All of my friends and family are amazed at the quick recovery. They are all keeping Dr Allred on their contact list for the doctor to use in case of joint replacement.

I had a total knee replacement on a joint that was injured over 45 years ago and has had a lifetime of hard work. The surgery was performed by Dr. Allred with the capable support of the staff at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Allred is kind, knowledgeable, and skilled. I have had both hips replaced by Dr. Allred, each surgery was perfect (a word I use infrequently.) I’m a nurse who knows physicians and Dr. Allred is the real deal.

I cannot express my appreciation enough for the care I am receiving from Dr. Allred and his staff.As a patient I presented him with a "worst case scenario" due to the injury and surgical history of my right knee. It is difficult for me to trust specialists due to the poor treatment I have received in the past. I have found that Dr. Allred is very "laid back", serious, concerned for the welfare of his patients and focused on the best outcome of the surgery. Dr. Allred and his assistant, Tanner, have answered every question that I have had and provided additional information and education about issues I had not considered. I feel well informed and cared for. I have a very positive outlook for recovery. Since being in Dr. Allred's care I feel like the surgery and recovery are now "best case scenario"!
