Dr. Darren Michael Kocs, MD

I don't see Dr Kocs on a regular basis (twice a year), but every time I see him it's like it was yesterday. He explains things in a manner that makes sense and really tries to relate. He works at a really busy practice, but I do really appreciate his attention to detail and when I'm meeting with him, there are no distractions.

Dr Kocs does NOT think of his Patients well being at All! The first time I met him it was awesome thought I had found a great Dr. But to my surprise I was wrong. My results were delivered to me by phone not by someone who could explain them to me Dr Kocs didn't bother to explain them to me either my primary Dr did . Then we had severe allergic reaction to the medication . I called Dr kocs and my primary Dr did as well we kept getting voicemail ,no answers , then my primary Dr spoke with him after 30+ hours but when he tried calling again he couldn't be reached. When I called him I had to leave voicemails and the staff had a major attitude. Dr kocs called me back after 2 days of us trying to reach him . By that point my primary Dr had to have made a choice without Dr kocs help. Knowing that I have have 3 blood clots before had an chemical allergic reaction to warfarin that caused blisters everywhere and raw skin from my ankle to mid thigh couldn't be touched because of the warfarin then… they put me on eleguis I had an reaction to the medication again and lost 8lbs in 4 days my potassium bottomed out and more the point is during all of this se never heard from kocs until we hanged the medication on our own. So no he's no 5* Dr to me he what you would call a 1* Dr people you go to when have to don't let his charm full you he only cares about himself and his ratings and during our last phone call he proved that did he apologize for ANYTHING you wonder? NO , HE SAYS IT WAS just telephone tag not his fault at all... I have never been this upset to go out and write a review on Dr before besides great one that is but this took the cake.please be careful if you go see this Dr he has a wonderful bedside charm but don't let that full you because it did me....

Dr Kocs in my Rock Star Doctor. I have Stage IV colon cancer and he has been my hero in guiding me through 2 years of treatment while working to maintain my quality of life. He walks through my bad days and celebrates my victories! I sure I am speaking for hundreds of other grateful patients when I say he is THE BEST!

Bedside manner almost non existent. Facility heards you in and out like cattle. Treatments spread out, so more money collected by insurance & more co payments.

Having cancer is no fun but Dr. Kocs, nurses and staff make you feel comfortable and well cared for. They are awesome, caring, and considerate and really do have their patient's comfort and well-being first and foremost.

I am currently a patient of Dr. Kocs for a blood disorder (ITP). I first started seeing him while I pregnant with my 3rd child. I had recently moved here from San Antonio and he was recommended to me. I have nothing but amazing things to say about him. The morning of my c-section (which happened to be the day before thanksgiving) he dropped by to check on me. He gave comfort throughout my entire pregnancy. Always made me feel at ease. Every appointment I had with him, he didn't make me feel me rushed or like I was stupid for asking obvious questions. Having a ITP is scary but knowing I'm in good hands helps to make it a disease I don't have to fear! I would 100% recommend this doctor.

I have seen Dr. Kocs twice for a blood disorder (ITP) and he has impressed me so much. I love his wry but caring demeanor; it puts me at ease. But he always answers my questions thoroughly and doesn't make me feel rushed. Going to a doctor's office is so stressful, it's nice to have a good experience for a change.

I would recommend Dr Kocs to anyone that has cancer, he is honest and cares about his patients.

I was in the hospital for 2 months after being diagnosed by Dr. Kocs. Many mornings I found myself waking up and finding him standing in the shadows of my room watching me. He was really creepy. His bedside manner was less than desirable. I asked him several times if he would speak to my father and let him know I would be ok, and he wouldn't take 5 minutes to do this for me. When my insurance ran out, he dropped me like a hot coal, not caring I had a dangerous cancer and no health care. I found another oncologist willing to help me and am fine now, but I will forever remember this doctor...and not fondly.
