Don't cast your pearls before this swine, Paterno. He is haughty, conceited and behaves like a juvenile without thought or care of hurting you. He is justified by protecting his little ego. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat.

His extreme political views aside, my experience was this: he often cancels and is unavailable. Don't text if you are in any crisis. He was supposed to help me deal with my trauma. So we delved into decades of abuse I experienced. I thought I was actually making progress but once we uncovered all the anger I suppressed for years; he didn't help deal with that anger. You don't dig up the skeletons and just leave them in the uncovered in the backyard. After working with him I regressed to such a bad place, that I wasn't leaving my house. I would go to work, go home and isolate. He doesn't believe in medication at all, which has some value. Many patients are over-medicated. No doubt. But if he doesn't believe in medication and doesn't help in therapy; what are you left with? A tool box without tools. You are left empty.

He lacks respect for women. I countered his dishonesty during a session and he cut the session because I disrespected him. He was flustered and back peddling. I don't think he even considers that women have deep insight. The way he back peddled meant to me he is clueless. I was supposed to believe his show of dishonesty. And about his show of misogyny, watch him on YouTube with a Dr. Gina who displays lots of bare shoulder and leg with him as he flirts with her during their serious fundamentalist discussions. It's rather disturbing to see in the face of all those who claim Paterno is a misogynist, how he doesn't realize that his choice to portray what can be perceived as an adolescent wet dream flirting with a woman who goes all out "harlot" online, does this not embarrass him? Seems not. Maybe he should have donned a wife beater and shown a few biceps himself? Why then did he call women marching "Vagina Shreekers" when this Dr. Gina is the one shreeking her vagina, and he is… gladly engaging. His deliberate public persona is all out commando for you to see and experience...

Dr Paterno helped myself & my family through one of the most challenging times in my life. He was easy to talk to, was able to listen to my needs and give me hope and direction. I’d highly recommend him & wish I didn’t live in Ireland or I’d still be seeing him each week! Thanks for everything

In the beginning, he seemed to be an excellent, intelligent therapist. After a while though, I realized he's actually a terrible therapist who is only listening half the time and strongly expresses his skewed, eighteenth century views to you. In my later sessions, he talked mostly about himself that I didn't even have time to talk about what I needed to talk about. Plus, he's condescending and thinks that women are emotionally incapable of handling themselves.

What kind of mental health provider can say those things? This hateful man clearly has his own issues. I would run far away
