Dr. David A. Aguirre Tarquino, MD

David A. Aguirre Tarquino, MD, is an attending pediatrician at Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care in Elmsford. He works in the outpatient setting, providing care to patients from newborn up to 21 years old. Dr. Aguirre Tarquino takes great joy in what is at the heart of primary care, including working closely with families, giving guidance and treating children as they grow through their stages of life. He is cognizant of the impact that mental health has on physical health as he attends to children and their families. After earning his Doctor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2013, with a special distinction in infectious disease, Dr. Aguirre Tarquino completed his pediatric internship and residency at Jacobi Medical Center in 2016. Dr. Aguirre Tarquino has conducted research titled “Risk Factors for Acquisition of Carbapenem-Resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (KPC) in the Intensive Care Units of a New York City Tertiary Medical Center”. His research was …presented as a poster presentation at the Infectious Diseases Society of America’s 2012 IDWeek national conference. Dr. Aguirre Tarquino is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics, and he is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 2013, Dr. Aguirre Tarquino won the Harold and Muriel Block Institute for Clinical and Translational Research Award for Excellence from Montefiore Einstein, and the Provider of the Year Award For Teamwork and Cooperation in 2019. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
