Dr. David Joseph Ahlberg, MD

I've lived all around the country and have seen at least six other psychiatrists, and Dr. Ahlberg is by far the best. I'm a tricky case since I also have several endocrine disorders, and he is the only psychiatrist to have gotten me stabilized. I hand out his cards like candy at NAMI meetings.

Very caring and professional. Explained everything to me and set me at ease. We went in very nervous but by the time the appointment was over feeling more hopeful.

I brought my daughter in to deal with her anxiety issues. She never spoke with Dr. Ahlberg. She was questioned by his assistant and then he came into the room and was briefed on what was discussed. He prescribed medication without even speaking to her. I am appalled the Dr. Ahlberg is able to conduct business like this! Parents be wary. This could be a very dangerous situation for your child!

I personally have seen Dr. Ahlberg for a very long time, so long that I have followed him from his previous location to his newest office with JCMC. Not only do I see him, but I also bring my children to see him. I tell you what, Dr. Ahlberg has been so wonderful to my family and I. Personally, I thank him for helping me overcome my postpartum depression. Every time I come to the office, I am greeted by very pleasant secretaries (Terry is so sweet!), and then the girls who work in the back are so nice. My children love going to his office and getting their cold therapy! The nurses in the back always remember my children. They actually remember us when we come in and know what is going on so we don't have to repeat our story every time we come in. The front staff makes it even better when they allow me to schedule my entire family at close appointment times so that we do not have to come back and forth to the office. The last time we were seen the girl at the front even told… me that Dr. Ahlberg makes house calls to those who can't make it to the office. He is such a sweet man!

You don't really actually talk to the actual Dr. You talk to an "assistant" the Dr comes in after and the assistant relays what you said to the Dr. A little awkward and unprofessional. It feels like you are a package being sent on conveyer belt. Time spent with the Dr is at most 5 minutes. I felt the Dr had issues listening. The assistant relayed my words to Dr that I was having a hard time. Dr replies "Well it sounds like you are doing fine I will see you in Two weeks" Needless to say I won't be seeing him again.
