Dr. David M. Chacko

My dad has been a patient of Dr. Chacko for years. While he is a good doctor, he disrespects his patients by making them wait hours. We have never waited less than 2 hours. There are many good doctors that respect their patients. I suggest you choose someone else who cares about you.

I had a torn retina. Chacko missed it and when my regular opthamologist returned to town, I was sent straight to surgery. I can't say that I would have retained more vision in that eye had it been caught on that first visit but it certainly may have had a better outcome.

Dr. Chacko is one of the very nicest physicians I have ever encountered!! So very kind, pleasant, and caring. He took all the time in the world with me and did an excellent job of patient teaching. I have all the confidence in the world in him and would highly recommend him.

It is normal for a 1-4 hour wait - after the scheduled appointment time - to be seen by this doctor.

First off, I'd like to say that for anyone who ever complains about wait time at a specialist doc appointment obviously has not been around the block enough to understand that these appointments take 4 hours. Just to get your eyes dilated is at least 30 minutes by itself. So there's that. Now, Dr. Chacko treated me starting in middle school up until age 21 when I moved cross-country. He walked me through an overwhelming amount of procedures (uveitis injections, a medicinal implant in my eye, laser eye surgery when my retina first started to detach, cataract removal, etc...) and he had my trust every step of the way. His bedside manner was always personable and even though he couldn't stick around for 30 minutes every single appointment, he will give you his assistant's number or even his personal cellphone number if any further questions arise. He is a very genuine, well-educated, individual who will always work with you in order to make you feel comfortable and safe. I would… recommend him to anyone in the area looking for a specialist in a heartbeat!

Waited over 1hr....talking to staff about getting someone to watch his dog while doing laser surgery...never gave follow up unstructions....seemed to be preoccupied with other things rather than me and the surgery being performed at the time..eyes are worse than before having surgery!

I have been going to Dr. Chacko for a couple of years for POHS. He always works me in when I have an emergency. He is great to work with and so is his staff. Appointment times are a little slow but I think it is because he tries to help as many patients as possible.
