Dr. David Wei Chia, MD

All of my family members have been patients of David Chia for many years and we have always been very pleased with the care he has given us. However, the last time that I saw him my insurance had changed from private insurance (Blue Shield of California) to Medicare (with Blue Shield as my supplemental provider - Medicare Supplement Plan F) and the quality of care that I received was horrible. I only saw Dr. Chia for a couple of minutes, literally. The rest of my examination was conducted by his non-MD assistants, none of whom knew anything about my medical history, and didn't seem to care. I left the appointment without having any of my then existing vision questions and concerns being addressed. I guess that in Dr. Chia's opinion, Medicare just doesn't pay enough to justify his personal attention.

Very disappointing about the experience I have today with Dr. Chia’s visit. We schedule the appointment two weeks ago on line, and they won’t able to find us on the appointment list, fortunately, I kept the appointment screen shot to proof the appointment was made. After they squeeze us in their busy schedule, we found out they already terminated the contract with Aetna VSP program. Without notifying patients prior to cancel it , it’s really causing inconvenience for us. Since I have credit on the account and they refuse to transfer the credit from contact lens supply to office visit, I have no choice but spend another 90 to do the eye exam in order to use the credit. Knowing Dr Lily Chia for more than 10 years, hard to believe how unprofessional her staff is. I love the doctor but unhappy with how they communicate with the patient. I order contacts few months ago, no one Have informed me that they might discontinue with Aetna, so I should use the credit ASAP. I hope Dr. can at lease… let their patients know in advance for any insurance change, that’s really customer satisfaction 101.

Dr David Chia is a very knowledgeable and thorough dr, explaining all that I needed to know and answering all my questions. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Chia is an excellent doctor & I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs an opthalmologist in South Orange County.

Although Dr David is young, he is extremely knowledgeable & caring! After being a patient of his associate Dr Li Li Chia for many years, I feel quite comfortable seeing Dr David Chia as well for a not so common condition. I travel from Palm Desert to continue to be a patient although I now live in Tennessee for most of the year.

I have been a patient at this eye care facility for about 5 years. It is the one annual doctor visit I enjoy going to. Both Dr. David Chia and Dr. Li-li Chia are knowledgeable and trained ophthalmologists, and make you feel comfortable and at ease in their care. They have the latest technology available in their medical office and utilize it.I highly recommend this ophthalmology practice.note: As with any physician, the later in the day you schedule your appointment, the longer you are likely to wait. I try to schedule the first or 2nd appointment of the day and rarely wait more than 10 minutes.

Our whole family comes to see Dr. David Chia! His knowledge is first-rate, the office and equipment are really high-tech and he also has a really good way with the kids. We can't say enough nice things about this great young eye doctor!
