Dr. David Robert Demartini, MD

I have been a patient for years and can recommend Dr. David Demartini as a great ophthalmologist and a kind doctor also.

Few months ago I had terrible eye pain early in the morning. Around 3 am I went to ER in San Ramon Regional Hospital. They only gave me antibiotic eye drop and asked to make appointment with ophthalmologist next day. After frantic search for eye doctors I was fortunate to locate and make an appointment same day with Dr. David Demartini. His expert diagnosis of my eye being very dry caused my eye pain. He knew right of way due to my illness my natural eye blinking was not efficient enough to produce tear. He immediately placed contact in my eye. Pain immediately ceased. After one week my follow up with him , he inserted pins under my eye lids. I am forever grateful of his knowledge in his profession and resolving my eye issue. He is the best ophthalmologist I ever known. God bless him

I recently went to see Dr Demartini for multiple eye complaints. While his assistant/tech was really patient, gracious and detail oriented Dr Demartini was not. He rushed through our visit (<3 mins), did not bother to elicit my chief complaint, nor did he acknowledge it once I shared it. Literally felt like he was rushing me out of his office. I left feeling without any answers, acknowledgement or even reassurance for the problem I came in with. Dont even think he knew my name. As a fellow physician, I completely empathize with hectic and sometimes overwhelming nature of juggling patients. However it is completely unacceptable to not give patients the time of day as this is the crux of our work. Would not recommend him at all.

I was treated terribly by Dr Demartini. I went there for a contact lens change at the referral of my primary care Dr. I see the Dr's at UCSF because of several eye problems but hey wanted me to keep to the East Bay for this treatment. He barely said anything to me, changed the lenses and then scooted out the door to the front desk. I heard him make some sort of sarcastic remark to them and his last were "I know better that to get involved with that." What? When I got up there the staff told me that he said I had to go to UCSF for my lens change not him. What? I was polite, on time, and did not create a fuss. I am flabbergasted. If he had an issue, he should have told me to my face. I am complaining here and I will continue until it gets sorted out.

Dr. DeMartini is not only fabulous, but he CARES about his patients. Thanks to Dr. DeMartini, I can see again. He answers all questions and goes the extra mile.

We are SO thankful for Dr. Demartini. His dedication, talent and expertise is unmatched in our eyes (no pun intended!).
