Pompous little man... Told him it was hip.. Looked at X-ray Told me my back.. Just got an MRI...which he didn't approve because"""HE KNOWS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS... IT IS MY HIP.. DOESN'T CARE OR LISTEN ONLY LOOKING FOR DOLLARS DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HOW HE STILL HAS A LICENSE...IS A PROBLEM

Dr. Dickerson did major knee surgery on me October 5th, 2023 and I'm healing well. He listens to my concerns, answers my "silly" questions, and does his absolute best to help. Now, he's also helping me with a shoulder/elbow problem. I could not be more grateful.

I had enough of his staff hanging up on me hes always surgery which he has his office days they don't call back foronth now .i had Shaun Denney. to tell I will be in boot for 6 months never had surgery gives me a paper for surgery to follow would not write me script for crutches not doing paper work go buy them on a fixed income I had a cane 20.00 suppose to give three lifts in my boot one I had to say this but very bad ?? place he called me crazy but harmless I was not there for him to call me names belittle me .I been for physical therapy he told to follow up with psychical therapy in three weeks the it took my physical therapist to call 10 or more to give non surgery paper to follow did not have surgery first three weeks now four then said 6 months in boot and 4 weeks still can not go to therapy still waiting instructions for therapy you should be very sorry for the way you treating me.. ..the last of this place

Dr. Dickerson is a skilled surgeon, but a vulgar and disrespectful person. He cursed out me with every vulgar curse word imaginable. He threw a tantrum because I was going to inpatient rehab and was transported by wheelchair 10 days after my surgery. He went ballistic that I was at rehab and threaten he would force me into a manipulation surgery if I did not progress to an unrealistic percent of movement. He said he would throw me and the wheelchair out of the office. After he berated me to tears ( just ten days after a complete knee replacement ) I would never set foot in his office again. He should not be allowed to keep his medical license if he curses out and threatens his patients. In fact, if others want to put together a petition, I would surely file a formal complaint.

Not a serious man at all. Mom is in Emergency with a broken ankle and he's making jokes. Tried to call the office to speak to him for the plan going forward. Staff would not allow that. "No" he will not call you back, no need...…. Avoid this one at all cost.

I normally don't go out of my way to review doctors unless they are overwhelmingly good or bad at their profession. Dr. David Dickerson is the latter. This guy is one of the worst orthopedic surgeons in the Monmouth / Ocean County area, if not the state of New Jersey, or the entire Country. It's a shame that he is one of the only orthopedic surgeons in Monmouth and Ocean County who accepts the Medicaid Plans outside of an orthopedic clinic at a hospital. After my experience with him twice, I would personally rather go to a clinic in a 3rd World Country than ever be seen or treated by this guy ever again. First off, Dr. Dickerson and about half of his staff members have an attitude problem (him the most). He also seems to be suffering from anger management issues and if you accidentally come off in a way which he finds offensive, he will go from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds and start blasting at you in a fit of immoral outrage. All he really cares about is making money off of you… (not the true welfare of his patients). He's rude, arrogant, offensive, has no bedside manner, and could probably benefit from taking years of anger management courses. There's also normally a considerable waiting time in both of his offices and if you're stuck only having a Medicaid plan for whichever reason, the practice will force you to see him at the Toms River location and are only willing to treat one injury. If you have multiple injuries / deformities, they will recommend going to the sub-specialty clinic or another private practice (which unfortunately doesn't exist in this area with Medicaid). All he kept yelling (not saying politely) the entire time is that he doesn't want to / has no interest in helping someone with systemic (widespread) problems which are genetic. He basically wants you going in there with one part of your body severely injured / deformed and jump into the ceiling when he touches it because that's what makes him and his practice the most money (acute injuries). I had to compile all of my past records from other doctor's and have them faxed to his staff members multiple times for him to even agree to send me to Physical Therapy. He was so reluctant initially send me to PT that he barely allowed himself to do it even with 3 additional reports from other specialists recommending Physical Therapy stuck right in his face. According to Dr. Dickerson, Physical Therapy is a waste of time (or in other terms, his money) and that someone who's physically weak and suffers from a genetic disorder which causes loose, unstable joints who's easily injured and bruises easily is better off paying for a gym membership. He has no insight or compassion for someone unless they can make him a ton of money from the insurance companies and in that case he's really just fabricating that he cares about you and your issues. At the time of my 2nd appointment when I asked if he would write me a prescription to an Occupational Therapist to obtain a type of splint that is worn by individuals with my disorder to improve hand and finger strength / dexterity when there is hyper-extension and you couldn't even play electric guitar, bass guitar, or any type of stringed instrument without being in pain, regardless of how passionate you were about doing it. Dr. Dickerson has no empathy for a person going through this and considers it a low priority and unimportant. He subsequently springs out of his seat and starts lecturing me about how I should have to pay for the silver ring splints myself and if I needed an Occupational Therapist to determine the sizing and which type of splint is the most appropriate to pay for that as well because sending me for additional therapy would impose to much of a burden on his practice because it comes out of their taxes. I'm not exaggerating any of this information about his behavior by any stretch. This is exactly what transpired in the examination room before he stormed out all bent out of shape by my request. By the time I realized that I would never allow myself to see this rude, arrogant doctor or his staff who are filled with absolute scorn and greediness ever again, I decided to say something to him as he was exiting the room. I said, "You know, we (as in his patients who are the victims here) would all be a lot better off if you would change you standpoint". He runs down the main hallway and into the back of the office and yells back at me as I'm leaving, "No, we'd all be better off if everyone was reasonable". By this time I had enough and just walked out of the office pretending as if I didn't hear him. Reflecting on this now, he's basically just admitting that he only finds a patients request reasonable if he sees enough profit in them and once again it makes him a ton of money. Do yourself a favor and spare your dignity and self-respect and avoid Dr. Dickerson like the Black Death Plague.

I was his patient 2013 2015. Due to insurance issues I had to find a new dr. it took a long time but I have the highest respect for him and wish I could come back. I hope I can come back someday.
