I have been a patient of Dr. Ethier's for many years. I used to see him in his office in Belleview. That office was superb! Very organized and everyone was genuinely interested in me. Now Dr. Ethier is in The Villages. I followed him because I only trust him. The new staff is helpful and friendly. But I go to the Villages (40 minute drive) because of Dr. Ethier. His bedside manner is great, superior to any Dr. that I have seen. He takes time to answer my questions and those of my family members. He LISTENS! Love him.

I heard from many of my friends at church about Dr. Ethier. I was encouraged to call and make an appointment for the pain in my knees that I thought I would just have to live with. I rarely was able to walk except to do what I had to do and it wasn't easy. But I did not think I wanted to have surgery. My first visit with Dr. Ethier was great. He took xrays and discussed options that I had and injected my one knee that same day. I felt better right away. I went to physical therapy and found that each day I was able to do more. I did have another appointment with Dr. Ethier and he was so happy for me. I was so happy too and I had an injection in my other knee. He said that I will know when I am ready for surgery and I know that if that time comes I will not hesitate in having Dr. Ethier do the surgery. I have complete trust in him as a doctor. I never felt hurried and never felt that I was asking too many questions. He always asks me for my questions! It has been a great experience… and now I am the one encouraging my friends to see Dr. Ethier. Thank you Dr Ethier.

I had a great experience with Dr. Ethier. He is extremely friendly, warm, and has a great personality. He explained in detail why I was having pain in my knee. He spent a considerable amount of time with me. During my examination, he used diagrams, my xrays, and even drew out my knee anatomy to help me understand my options. He is extremely intelligent and gives inspiration and hope to his patients. Because he is so busy and popular my appointment was scheduled out almost a month. But to my delight his wonderful office staff called me when there was an earlier opening! They even knew more about my insurance than I did. No other doctor's office staff has ever taken the time to explain to me about my secondary insurance. I called my insurance after my appointment and everything Dr. Ethier's staff told me was right. He has built his staff to be all patient centered. I am so happy to have found him.

I am in need of a second knee replacement. My first one was done in St. Pete, and that's too far to go this time. Regarding my first appointment with Dr. Ethier, I never did get to see him. I walked out due to frustration with the medical assistant who could not get my medical history correct! For starters, I was IGNORED when I signed in. The gal was standing on the other side of the THICK GLASS WINDOW, but never bothered to open it to greet me or give me my paperwork. So about 10 minutes later, I had to get back up from my seat and go back to the window to get the paperwork. Then she forgot to give me back my insurance card, so I had to get back up for that. I have KNEE PAIN. It is painful to get up and down and walk! Back to my medical history, for whatever reason, this MA told me her name each time she came into the room, which was 3 times! She'd ask me a question and I would answer, then she'd ask me a second question, and then she'd go back to the previous question and… totally changed the info that I had explained to her. She thought I had back surgery. I did not. She thought it was my right knee more than once. It is my left. Oh, I was so frustrated after several questions, that I left. If this doctor employs such incompetent staff, I can only wonder how competent he is. I never saw the doctor.

I had knee replacement surgery 19 months ago with Dr. Ethier. I had SIGNIFICANT pain immediately following surgery for seven weeks. I currently cannot climb stairs, get in and out of a car, etc., without pain and can flex my knee only to 85 degrees. I was finally told by another orthopedist who took x-rays and reviewed my operative report that this is directly related to poor surgery! I am college educated and my husband is a retired surgeon. I am not overweight and am a physically active person in very good health other than my knee. My only recourse at this point is a second knee replacement!!!! which will result in significant bone loss. Please find another orthopedic surgeon.

I had been referred to another Orthopedic Surgeon for my knee pain, but my neighbor told me "absolutely not!" She told me about Dr. Ethier and that he is the ONLY doctor to go to. I must say I felt immediate comfort going into his office. The staff is fun, caring, and really made me relax. Dr. Ethier was gentle, compassionate and gave me confidence in working together to make my decision. Now after having my surgery,my knee replaced, I can truly say he has the best bedside manner, he was so involved in my care in the hospital and in his office. I have been very happy and will now tell all my friends that he is the BEST!

I heard about Dr. Ethier from several friends. I called for an appointment and was greeted by the most pleasant and happy staff member. She made an appointment quickly and answered all of my questions. Once I arrived at the office I was again greeted and welcomed to the office! The office is clean and seemed very organized. Once I met Dr. Ethier he listened to every word I said and asked questions not only about my pain, but also my activities in life, and my concerns. He truly cares about his patients. He spoke to me about every detail of my pain and gave me several options. I have given all of my friends Dr. Ethier's name and many have followed my advice. Great doctor!
