Dr. David Stephen Geckle, MD

Dr. GECKLE has been my surgeon for about 15 years. He has always been pleasant and kind. He listens and is attentive the my needs, always including me in treatment plans. I totally entrusted him with my care. I was sorry that this was my last visit with him since he is leaving the area. I will miss him.

He literally saved my life. I had very severe rapidly progressing cervical myelopathy. He quickly used his neurosurgical skils to put my cervical spine in excellent order. Truly kind, incredibly knowledgeable and patient. He does his very best to make the patient feel heard and cared for. He will be missed beyond measure.

Dr. Geckle is professional and caring. He will suggest alternatives to surgery before recommending surgery. His staff is just as professional and caring as he is. I have referred several people to his practice based on the care I’ve received. Top notch support and follow ups.

Dr. Geckle continues to be concerned and realistic in assessing and treating my spinal needs/pains. He does not brush you off, nor does he rush to surgery. He makes referrals only to those he feels will treat his patience in the same respect as he does! I recommend him and all the staff at his Richmond location if you need a neurosurgeon!

I recently had a second back surgery performed by Dr. Geckle for pain in my lower back & numbness in my right thigh above the knee. He cared about how I was tolerating surgery post-op. I must say some treatments were tried before deciding on surgery such as physical therapy, injections into my spine, & medications. He is not "knife happy" & tries different treatments before doing surgery. I recommend him!
