Dr. David Paul Gillett, MD

This is the worst doctor I've ever had the misfortunes of dealing with in my entire life I'm a senior citizen he did not listen to the patient and ordered a lot of needless tests in the ER that were not necessary to diagnose the condition as the patient was left in agony for over 5 hours moaning out in pain without any pain meds or anything which is unacceptable borderline medical malpractice at the very least. This was a very clear cut pain management issue from a surgery. Dr 101 simple simple manage the patient's pain. Gillett dissapears and the staff cover for him saying he's not on the floor I know what you were doing sir you fool no one. AVOID THIS FOUL EXCUSE OF A HUMAN. St Luke's should be ashamed.

Being From a family of physicians/ medical professionals, their # 1?? rule is “ When you have no value for your patients……. find another profession!!!???????????????????? “ Let’s start with RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, CONDESCENDING, EMPTY, NO EMPATHY, CYNICAL, PURE ?? % JERK,………..We could go on and on?????????? I blame his Co-workers, Bosses, and more than anyone his Employer CHI St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital Emergency Room ?????????????? This is obviously a pattern from the reviews…….and absolutely No one seems to care or take any pride in their chosen professions??The complicity is sickening ????????????????????????

For a service that is known for throwing crap at it's patients this doctor stands out amongst all the others, he is a sweet man with a good set of skills and knowledge in medicine, he will tell you directly what you need to do and how you need to approach what he is treating you for. Lots of people seem to be upset about his bed side manner but I found it to be comforting, I know he has lots of patients to see because it is an ER and he has to check on and work on all of the people there, but he made time to discuss things with me for my treatment, unless you are looking to not pay your bill by posting a comment with one star, there should only be positive reviews.

I had a laceration and Dr. Gillett was able to glue it so I didn’t have to get stitches or shots.

Horrible bedside manner w my 87 year old mother. Never asked for medication history. Rude and uncaring

My elderly mother had fallen and was taken to the ER..Providence East...She complaint of extreme pain the pelvic area and was seen by Dr. Gillet. After he was rude and snarky he continued to grab her forcefully and shake her to the point of yelling out in pain. Her pain was so bad she almost vomited. He ordered x-rays and determined nothing wrong with her and sent her home. Today after not being to eat for 2 days due to pain we sent her to the ER again where she was diagnosed with a fracture..absolute misdiagnosis by Dr. David Gillet..I am mortified that we have such a person in our local hospitals ER. After reading the other comments I understand my family isn’t the only one to surcome to this type of treatment.

I went into the ER due to serious chest pains and problems breathing. Dr. Gillett kept asking me if I had eaten spicy food in which I repeatedly answered no. He ordered for me to drink a really thick liquid for acid reflux and again asked if I had eaten spicy food and if the pain had left my chest. I again said I had not eaten spicy food and that the pain was still present. He replied with "are you sure you're telling me the truth?" After reading the results of my EKG and failing to explain them to me in terms I could understand, he became upset when I asked him to give me a more simple explanation since I was not a doctor and did not understand his terminology. He then responded with "i'm not sure what else the labs tested you for, but I think your having esophagus spasms due to acid reflux from what you ate. He followed with, "i'll get the nurse to come in and discharge you" without allowing me to ask any further questions. When the nurse came in she explained everything and then… apologized for his poor attitude and told me it was because Dr. Gillett was in a bad mood that morning. I hope his mood has changed since.

I'm beyond furious with the northeast hospital at providence. I went in this morning almost in tears as I've been in so much pain with my throat and neck along with ears. I thought for sure it was allergies or maybe an allergic reaction. Went in, they took my vitals and put me in a room. Once in there the Dr walked in for about 2 mins said "open up" looked in my throat and said "oh, its viral will go away between 5-7 days no cure." Didnt run any tests or try and help. I told him I was in a lot of pain as there are sores on my throat And if there was anything he could prescribe to help. The doctor said "no there is no cure Go home and take either Tylenol or motrin and get some rest." I can hardly swallow and I'm supposed to go home And take pills. The doctor then without notice leaves the room I wait for another 10 minutes The nurse comes in and says the doctor will not treat me as I'm not an emergency. Told me to go sign papers at the front and I was good to go, no discharge … Papers, no help, The doctor didn't even touch me. I inform them if I wasn't emergency and they weren't going to help me then I wasn't going to pay them. Then left. I have never been turned away for care especially being in so much pain. I luckily called las palmas urgent care and they will see me at 1pm. I have reached out to corporate and filed a complaint with the hospital and the dr. Stay clear from this hospital. Even if you think something is an emergency they wont.

Dr was aloof, made me feel like I didn't matter. very bad bedside manner. Never came to see me & tell me anything about my complaint instead the nurse came in with the discharge papers, so I didn't have a chance to ask him any questions.

This man is not a doctor. On more then one occasion to the ER on Joe battle this Dr has misdiagnosed and sent us hone. He is rude and has 0 bed side manners. I have a heart condition and he sat there and laughed and said my chest pains were gas! When in fact after discharged me I had my cardiologist paged and he stated he had told Dr. GILLETTE that if I still had the chest pains i need to remain monitored instead Dr Gillette discharged me with the same chest pain and shortness of breath i presented with. He sits there and laughs in your face. He should not be a doctor and should be She's!
