It's time that I make this known. The death of Cindy Jo Mathews could have been prevented. Here's why. Cindy had Turner's syndrome and with Turner's patients, they have a high risk of heart and enlarged aorta issues as was the case with cindy and ultimately caused her death. Cindy started going to parkersburg cardiology, dr. Gnegy, a few years ago because they were supposed to "know" about Cindy's condition. In all the times she went to see him, she requested an imaging study to make sure her aorta wasn't enlarged. Each time, they declined to do it because he "they didn't see a need" because her blood pressure and ekg was always normal. An aortic aneurysm grows slowly over months and sometimes years. Anyway, cindy suffered her aortic aneurysm collapse at home just 6 week after last going to see him. Now you know why I've had such a hard time with this. In the 2 months cindy spent at wvu in Morgantown, 2 different surgeons there told me that had they done an MRI or CT the last time she… went to see them, they could have seen and corrected the problem before she collapsed and suffered permanent right side brain damage. If she would've come home, she never would've walked, talked or fed herself and would've always been on oxygen. Now you know. What makes matters worse, NOT ONCE have they called me and expressed condolences. They knew about it because I called them a few days after this happened. That's why I struggle. That's why I hurt. That's why Bobbi Dean hurts. That's why Shania Mathews hurts because theres a good chance, almost a certainty, that she would still be here today. Now I ask you. Do I have a right to be upset?
