Dr. David Lawrence Gould, MD

I arrived at Medical City Hospital in Fort Worth via ambulance with an extremely painful kidney stone. As Dr. Gould was preparing for surgery, he introduced himself, and I met some of the attending staff. Before I could blink, I was back in my room in no pain whatsoever. Being able to meet him before my surgery truly put my fears to rest. I'm very thankful for his manner and his expertise! I would recommend him to anyone needing a Uralogist. He's an excellent doctor. David Gould has ruined my life. My PSA was very high 10.5. I had gone to a urologist before David Gould. This urologist wanted to do a biopsy on my prostate FIRST to see if I had cancer. At that time I had no insurance but later I did, but a twist of fate brought me to Dr. Gould. David Gould skipped that important part (the biopsy) and schedule me for surgery. As I laid there being prepped for surgery I asked Dr. Gould what was this surgery going to do to me. His response was, "Well if you don't want to do this then you can back out right now" I wish I had, but I trusted that a Doctor told me I needed surgery so I went through with it. It turns out, I had no cancer. At that time I was a single man age 57 and all I wanted to do in life was find a wife and be married again. But the surgery has destroyed me sexually and taken away all desire to find a mate. It took a long time to get back in to see Dr. Gould to discuss my problem. It seemed not to be a big deal to him. My PSA is still… high. I went to another urologist and the first thing he did was a biopsy on my prostate. No cancer. He sent me on my way and said see you in 6 months for a PSA check. I wish I had had the biopsy first before surgery. I'd still be happy today.

Dr. Gould saved my life in the year 2013. After my primary care doctor found that I had renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer), she referred me to Dr. Gould. I was in STAGE III Kidney Cancer. He took my right kidney, cancer mass, and had to scrape the vena cava as the cancer had spread there as well. He, along with my primary care doctor, ABSOLUTELY SAVED MY LIFE!!! 2014 - 2017: Dr. Gould was approachable and seemed caring. He took time to answer all questions. But, as for the practice, I will not recommend him to anyone. He cut me twice, but he never found anything malign in my prostate after almost 3 years. And my PSA was still high. Later on, after his office confirmed accepted my change of insurance, I confirmed and signed with the new insurance company. His office even asked me for my new insurance information; and I sent them. Three months later, they sent me to LabCorp for a PSA test and scheduled my appointment with the doctor for 2 weeks later. But few days before, they called me telling that they do not accept my insurance. If I keep the appointment, I must pay full price out of my pocket before seeing the doctor. That was probably a blessing. I changed doctor, and the new one found that I have prostate cancer. Doctor Gould or his office never called or sent me any message.

Horrible bedside manner. Doesn't introduce himself prior to surgery. Caused my mother to have to use a catheter to urinate. After doing 3 procecures in less than 60 days.

Appointment not ease to get because he is that good!!!

Dr. Gould is the worse Urologist in the Ft.Worth/Irving Areas. He botched up my Bladder Sling surgery, and caused vagina prolapse, Then told me there was nothing he could do, and for me to see another Doctor., All the time I was in severe pain. Dr. Gould should not be allowed to practice, as he is not capable of caring for patients. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. After 5years I am still suffering. Also, I was in the hospital for 3 days, and he never visited me.He is a terrible doctor.
