Summary
I was born and grew up in San Francisco. I studied chemistry at University of California-Berkeley and planned to become a chemist. But after working with disadvantaged children, I changed course and decided to pursue medicine. I left the Bay Area to go to medical school and never returned. I've lived in Seattle since 1988.
