Dr. David C. Holst, MD

I saw Dr Holst for the first time right before Christmas for newly diagnosed bilateral hip osteoarthritis, moderate degenerative joint disease. He was very personable, listened carefully to me, treated me with respect and as a unique person, and was very informative and thorough. I did not request a specific physician because I wanted to be seen as soon as possible, but I am glad that I was matched with Dr Holst and have full confidence he can manage my treatment as things progress. The only slight thing is really not about Dr Holst but more about orthovirginia. I do not care at all for the AI system that answers the phone and I had to try several times to get it to recognize that I was trying to schedule an appointment. That part feels impersonal and I don't care for it. The digital first mentality and use of AI throughout health care is all the rage but something is definitely lost in the patient experience using these tech heavy approaches. It is not welcoming at all.

Dr. Holts and his staff and very professional and friendly. He has excellent surgical skills and truly cares about his patients. I highly recommend him and I will return to him in the future for all medical needs in his field.

Everyone at this office is patient-minded in that the patient always comes first. Dr. Holst has taken the time with me to ensure I understand his treatment plan, and always allows time to answer any questions I may have. He has a very caring bedside manner.  Everyone is kind and tends to patients' needs quickly.  Dr. Holst and his staff organized my hospital and home personnel care so well that I was put at ease with the entire process.  My experience from beginning to recovery has been amazing.  I highly recommend this office to family, friends, and/or anyone needing orthopedic care.

Dr. Holst possesses the qualities desired in a surgeon. He is extremely skilled and willing to take on challenging medical cases. He is knowledgeable and thorough in examining aspects affecting medical conditions. He is an excellent, empathetic listener who values the needs of his patients. His communication skills are exemplary. We chose to follow Dr. Holst to Virginia because we are confident we are receiving the best medical care.
