Dr. Lawrence Franklin Cohen, MD

Spent about 5 minutes with me. He wrote a report saying he checked/examined things on me he didn't. Acted like he had no clue why I was there. Clearly had not read my chart. Nationwide insurance paid for the appointment to get him to say my injury, that I have LIFE TIME MEDICAL BENEFITS on, was resolved 20 years ago, resulting in me losing all coverage. I don't know how he sleeps at night.

My sugery was cancelled twice and was rescheduled the day before surgery.I'm very dissatisfied.

Recieved a spinal fusion from Dr Cohen at VCU medical center back in 2014 and it was a terrible decision to choose this doctor. I have friends who are nuses that work at VCU that warned me about receiving treatment from Dr Cohen but I let him convince me it was the right choice. I am now in the worst pain of my life, worst of all when trying to contact him he acts like im being a pain in his butt.

I was in a terrible car accident 13 years ago and if it was not for Dr. Cohen I would not be here to write this review. I broke my back in 3 places and Dr. Cohen took very very very good care of me. He put in my herrington rods and hooks and I have not had any problems. He was very compasionate and caring and I know to this day if I called him with an issue he would still make sure I was taken care of. He is a great doctor and surgeon.

Spent about 3 minutes with me. Clearly had not read my chart since he asked the same questions as the initial RN (he even asked my age, which is definitely right there all over my chart). Didn't physically examine me at all before making treatment recommendations.

This doctor did a surgery I did not need and messed me up worse than I was. I would not recommend him to anyone.
