Dr. David John Ikola, MD

Staff is horrible. Messed up our appt because they didn’t read the notes beforehand. Staff will gossip literally in front of your face. So unprofessional and Dr Ikola won’t hold them accountable at all. The whole thing could have been avoided. I explained the appt to everyone I talked to and their “Covid testing” is asking if anyone is sick “right now”. My child was sick over a week ago due to an over year long ongoing medical condition. They treated me as if I snuck her in, even though we told them everything! They were so rude about it and it upset me. Then the gossiping and then the doctor kept telling me I needed to get her tested to be seen. I told him numerous times his staff literally just gave her a test. They wanted me to wait in the car with another one of my minor kids in the building! He wasn’t willing to even hear me out or accept any responsibility. I’ve referred so many time him, that I will be talking to about this. Never again and he’s now lost my family of 4 kids.

Dr. Ikola patiently explained our situation to us and made sure we fully understood every detail. I'd highly recommend him.

Dr. Ikola was great with my kids and did a great job explaining our situation to me. He was very quick at returning my phone calls and patient with my questions. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatrician.

I think Dr. David Ikola is an excellent doctor. I've been going to him for over 8 years now and I've taken all of my 4 kids to him. If my kids are sick, he'll take them in right away. He is very thorough when it comes to explaining why my kids are sick and what can be done to help them. He is also available on some Saturdays which is a plus. I think a lot of people don't understand that sometimes children are too young to be treated with medecine and as parents we are responsible for our children's health. If we're not healthy, how can we expect our kids to be healthy? I definitely recommend him.

When my first child was born Dr.Ikola was great,he was always playing with my daughter and trying to make her laugh, he would explain everything and do everything to ease our concern if there was a problem. Now tht my daughter is almost 3 and I now have a second child, I've noticed its the opposite. I wait atleast 30 min for my appt and once I'm in it seems like he's always trying to rush us out. Plus he seems rude now and the last two times I saw him he told me to do something to help my child and when I brought him in for a follow up and told him it wasn't really working he straight up told me what I was doing wasn't going to do anything to help..hellloooo u told me to tht that??. Also the main medical or assitant is rude and when she gave my son his shot when she took the needle out she slid the needle on his thigh creating a little cuttle. Sad to say I'm going to be changing doc

I have seen Dr ikola as a sub for our normal pediatrician twice. both times that we have seen him he has insulted me for being over weight and on the second visit blammed me for my daughters asthma because I smoke ciggarets when I do not smoke around my kids. so if you want him to insult you for being over weight schedule an appointment with him. He should learn to be curtious to his patients parents and focus on the issue at hand in stead of worrying about the parents health. If I wanted to listen to a Dr about my weight I would go see my Dr not Dr ikola.

My daughters have been patients of Dr. Ikola's since they were babies. Now they are 13 and 15 years old. Sadly, I have to find another doctor for them because of the office staff. They are terrible. I don't feel that this doctor's office is anything more than a business. I don't see any compassion coming from his office staff downstairs. They schedule numerous appointments at the same time, so there is no way a patient can be late, no matter what the circumstances may be, they will make you reschedule. This is very inconvenient and doesn't show very much in the way of caring for their patients.

I would ditto the other review about going to someone else with anything other than directly medical concerns. My child has had numerous neurological and behavioral issues, which I repeatedly went to Dr. Ikola for, asking for help, a referral, anything. All he ever gave me was condescending lectures about "consistency", "those people are just trying to drug your child". When I asked outright, repeatedly, for referrals to p-docs, I was told to just come to him. So he could lecture me, dismiss my concerns and blow me off. The nursing staff is wonderful, but I'll take anybody else, or go to Urgentcare before I see him again.

Dr. David Ikola has been the pediatrician for both of my boys since birth. He is great with children but doesn't pay enough attention to parental concerns. If you have any neurological or behavioral concerns for your child, or if your child has Autism, I suggest you find a different pediatrician.
