Dr. David Jacob Kaufman, DO

I brought him extensive lab tests, CT scans, breath tests and spoke to him about years of treatment for SIBO that was not helping. He dismissed me and stated that I was going to have to live with it and referred me out to another provider. He was dismissive and arrogant and did not like the fact that I was extremely versed in medical terminology and research. I'd go elsewhere!

I was referred to Dr. Kaufman by the ER. He was able to see me right away. He answered all my questions and I thought he was extremely knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend him.

Rude, dismissive and terrible follow up. This doctor no longer cares. It is evident in the way him and his staff treat patients. Not returning phone calls, being easily annoyed and telling you to go to ER if you call and he is not around (which is apparently a lot)

I'm a CA transplant in NJ trying to assist my parents whenever I can. My father recently landed in the hospital due to abdominal pain and his doc told him to go to the ER as it could be appendicitis. At the hospital there were conflicting diagnoses and they left the hospital being told it was not my father's appendix but his colon by a top notch GI physician at the hospital. Unfortunately that doc is not covered in my parents' insurance so they had to find another once discharged. They have to stay within their group and they wanted a quick appt. So, among the limited choices given, I researched them and made a short list of great ones and not so bad ones. This guy's reviews seemed decent so I recommended him to my folks. BIG mistake. I just got of the phone with my poor parents. My mother is a retired RN of many years so she has is knowledgeable of certain conditions and also has worked with the gamut of both respectable and not so respectable physicians and surgeons. This guy was… condescending, dismissive, zero bedside manner, and utterly rude. He told my father he definitely has appendicitis and should go to a surgeon immediately and get surgery. When my mother offered the CT scan cd he just shook his hands dismissing such a ludicrous suggestion. If it weren't for their insurance they never would have even considered this clown. I feel so bad I steered them the wrong way. I hope to warn others from making the same mistake.

Dr Kaufman is an excellent doctor and also an outstanding human being. My family and friends have been his patients for years. I recommend him highly.

Just want to say how great this physician is and my family and I, we've been going to him for the last seven years. We have referred many friends and other family members to him and it's and each and everyone of them have been thankful to us. He spends a good amount of time with his patients and listens to all the problems and always treats you in the best manner. I've had friends with very serious GI problems who have been going to him for a while and now afte being in his care are in great health. I want to thank him and his great staff for taking such a great care of my family and friends.

Dr. kaufman is top notch and would never go to anyone else. He is superb!!

Dr. Kaufman has his own agenda and does not care about his patients, just about the quantity of filling his quota of patients. He has no idea who I even am because he never looked at me or stated any ideas about what I was saying. He has a standard way of treating his patients his way and does not waiver from his so called practice of treating patients. While I was talking to him he never really listened, it was more like he was thinking of his next golf game than actually listen to the people he treats. Then after you are done talking to him he writes you a prescription of medications that you just told him you have already taken and when you tell him I just told you I have already taken these meds, he gets insulted and states: If your going to treat yourself then why did you come see me? In my opinion he is a dangerous Doctor and should not treat any human or animal in this world and I am dead serious about that! Stay far away from Dr. David J. Kaufman D.O.!
